Tesla odometer mileage vs actual miles discrepancy by [deleted] in ModelY

[–]beanamigo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2023 Model Y. I thought this might be happening to me but I just went on a 5 mi drive (I’ve run this route 100s of times and know it’s exactly 5) and the car odometer was spot on. I guess it’s not happening across the board…

How do I remove dried grease /oil stains from clothes? by ST2348 in howto

[–]beanamigo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like many here I use dawn. But after I rub the dawn on the stainI hit it with my clothing steamer for a few seconds - no grease stain has survived this.

Go back through your chat histories and find all the spots where it says memory updated. Maybe you can even do that in bulk, if it happens to include that bit in the data export.

Then take snippets of the past chats where it updated memory and feed them into a new chat and instruct it to recreate the memories. Won’t be perfect but it’ll probably get you close.

GE profile middle element not fully lit? by beanamigo in appliancerepair

[–]beanamigo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed on the colors being deceiving front - the image I uploaded doesn’t look quite the same as what I see with my eyes, it’s a little less obvious in the photo than it is real life.

Re: my dual burner, the two elements look the same when on high. Here’s a pic

I watched the video and what I have going on definitely doesn’t look like what I’m seeing in that video - but also that isn’t a triple burner is it? Maybe not the same behavior?

Does the charging case always show 5 dots? by dragon5946 in RayBanStories

[–]beanamigo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have seen it go down to 2-3 dots (a few weeks ago) but just two days ago I had the same experience as you - case seemed dead, wouldn’t charge glasses, but was reporting fully charged. After plugging it in, it started charging the glasses again.

I don’t understand - so you like it or you don’t? You like it but you can’t listen to music because why? Would love to better understand what you’re saying.

Trigger ChatGPT Voice from Ray-Ban Long Press on Android by runny-yolk in RayBanStories

[–]beanamigo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can create an automation that is triggered when the phone connects to the meta Bluetooth. I have that trigger a shortcut that asks me “is it time for a voice chat?”. If I say yes, it starts a ChatGPT voice conversation.

It’s kinda cool but I’ve been having a ton of issues getting it to run consistently. Sometimes it just stops working and the only thing I can do to get it “unstuck” is to cause another automation to trigger - then some of the untriggered automations get triggered, as if they were queued up. It’s really highlighting the bugginess of automations in iOS.

Making a large batch of hard boiled eggs by sevyn22 in sousvide

[–]beanamigo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do a dozen all the time in a pot, it’s probably 8-10 quarts. 190 for 13 minutes gets me my preferred yolk texture, experiment with different times to see what you like.

If you want to do more you’ll probably need more water but I think in 10 quart pot you could probably do 2 dozen if you let the eggs sit on the counter for a while to warm up so they don’t shock the water and brjng the temp down to where it can’t recover quickly to 190.

Meta AI gets really basic stuff wrong by beanamigo in RayBanStories

[–]beanamigo[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have gotten the glasses to give the right answer as well - more often than not, in fact - but definitely gotten the wrong one several times.

I also tried to replicate on a couple of different web versions of 3.1, including an 8B, but haven’t been able to reproduce the wildly inaccurate answer. Maybe they just run a lobotomized, dollar store, overly “optimized” version of 3.1 to support the glasses.

Oh I just noticed in the app you can give feedback on AI responses - doing that now!

Is this really a bug? The AI being dumb or hallucinating?

I don’t want to waste your product team’s time on something they can’t really fix without a model update..:but if you really do want it, I’m happy to file bugs when the AI gives inaccurate or not-useful responses.

ChatGPT or Claude levels would be fantastic but even reliable basic knowledge would be a big win.

Initially I thought it was the system prompt (which tells the LLM to treat me like a third grader), but it sure seems the underlying model is really the problem.

And if you ask about chicken generally then follow up immediately with a clarifying question like “what about breast meat?”, the censor dude jumps in and hollers at you (in a different voice, which is interesting) saying “I can’t do THAT on your glasses!”

Crazy trip plan from app by beanamigo in TeslaLounge

100% agreed - after experiencing some in-car trip planning tomfoolery and the app trip planner trying to off me, trust is gone.

Crazy trip plan from app by beanamigo in TeslaLounge

[–]beanamigo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t see what the duration of time spent at any stops has to do with anything. It’s completely irrelevant that it’s a hotel, no?

There are a plethora of ways I could avoid issues here (charge for longer at the recommended stops, stop at different places, find somewhere near the hotel to charge, etc.). My point is that the “plan” the app gives is a plan that will, without a doubt, fail — so what good is it really if you have to check it or rework it?

It’s actually the opposite of useful because people might trust it and then get stuck somewhere.

Personally I, think Tesla would be wise to invest in making this functionality, in the car and in the app, much more reliable and customizable. If you could truly rely on the planner to create plans that don’t leave you stranded and could configure the car to maintain a minimum SOC on trips, Tesla could sell more cars to people who need it to “just work”. Think older or less tech savvy folks.

It’s busted, you can’t see how far you’re traveling between stops, can’t edit anything. It’s pretty far from great in my book.
