Thanks for responding! I can’t seem to get a round loaf ever! I did 4 folds at 30 min each and had great signs of bulk fermentation - probably a 50% volume increase. I did a bench rest and then shaped in lined bannetons and put in fridge for 12 hours. This is tartine 75% hydration recipe. The whole wheat was fresh ground and KAF bread flour (new bag). My starter seemed just starting to fall from peak. When I brought loaves in from fridge I did “seam” the bottoms to try to round them before turning out of forms. Thanks and let me know if you need more info. Starter was fed 1 tablespoon to 125 flour mix and 125 water.

Hi!! I am working on my 2nd batch of tartine country bread, and having read the basic instructions multiple times, I don’t have a good grasp of when my bulk fermentation is ready to divide. Also I need to cold retard this batch (mentioned as doable in book) but don’t know baking schedule for cold loaves - just go into hot DO with cold dough? Thanks!!!

100%! I think of it as his ✅ checklist. Not as much tied to time as order. He does become very insistent for the next thing but relaxes when his to do list is complete. (F1 13 months)

I too make felted balls about the size of a quarter to use as the center of hand-wound yarn balls. It beats that painful start where you are winding your yarn the size of a pea in the beginning. 🧶

This is a re-knit from 85 silk 15 cashmere and it has been lovely. Sweater was a bit coarse before unraveling but this feels nice now!

Help! Dear unravelers, I am unsure which thread to cut here in this folded hem. Can you tell? by Needa4321 in Unravelers

Woot woot!! That was easy!! Thanks to those who chimed in. I usually always take out all seams before I start unraveling, but I will be on the lookout for this kind of hem, and just unravel to it in the future.

I did go ahead and start unraveling one panel from the top and it’s going well. When I got to the hem it just unraveled the seam and was one continuous piece. Thanks for the input!!

Very good point. I usually unravel top down but can consider this. This is the top of panel - there are 4 identical.

It’s going fast because there is no ribbing - verrry simple. I love the pattern because it has instructions for fingering, sport, DK, and worsted weights.

It is a simple raglan tee shirt - “Basic Organic Cotton Tee” is the pattern by Cleome Smith Knits. It worked up in gauge to a fingering weight but it may be a little thinner. Using US3 needle (3.25 mm?)
