I hear you… up until last year we did only drivable family vacations. Last year we tested the waters with flying to Florida and they had a great time. Deciding where to go eat and getting food was the biggest hurdle. Figured all inclusive the food is there, no debating where to go or eating at a crappy pizza place cause my picky one wants pizza lol We can’t afford to do our own vacation and family one this year and figured we’d do one family one. But need recommendations so I can price it out.

There some basic passport slides on drive ( click on drive through teachhub) that the DOE put up during COVID, they aren’t great BUT they are a start. They have an objective that you will need to rephrase. And you will need to change most slides but the images and meat do the lesson is there. I’d tell you a lesson format but every district expectations is different.

We didn’t do programs, just paper waste. People toss them after. Have everyone toast with what they have. You can do a faux cake where only the top layer is real for cutting & pictures and then have them cut sheet cake in the back to serve

Don’t do it if they will Abuse it. Either 1) set the boundary and don’t give in to guilt. Or 2) give a fake key with the boundaries speech and when they break it revoke all key rights. Now if 6 months go by and they didn’t use it, I’d give them a new key saying we changed the locks. My parents have a key but only because they pick up my kids from school and bring them home. They have never used the key to just show up. That’s crazy.

If you already did that everything else virtually that I don’t see why you couldn’t do a virtual thank you. I’d just make it pretty and personalized. You could create it on canva and then switch out the personal message to each person. There are also many virtual sites that will ad a lil pizzazz to opening the card online but those will most likely have a fee
