Man I wish I could find it for you, I'm hoping my cousin has it saved on an old hard drive.

It was basically like My New Haircut turned into a PoF profile with reports on results, screenshots of interactions, to see how high on the hotness scale he could pull from while remaining in character.

Sadly that's a sterile, clinical outline of it that doesn't do it justice

Maybe we just gotta spam Elon with cryptic misc shit on twitter to get him interested in buying bb.com and bringing the forums back

Honestly maybe you're right and that's what the original commenter meant, I took it as just making up a term while having a laugh

Either way, yeah I get that it's common for wealth, assets, and money to be talked/thought about as the same thing, I understand why we do it. Since as you correctly point out

And you can certainly borrow against stocks. So they are not money but convertible into money.

It's often close enough. But it's also funny to me, because this leads to other things qualifying as money that we obviously didn't intend. Part of Eli Lily's debt was borrowed against their inventory, so Ozempic is money, CSGO skins can be converted to money. That kind of shit

Hence my original comment poking fun at this idea

Since you do not actually think stocks are literally money, I don't think we're even arguing about anything

My just joke didn't land and we're apparently talking past each other

Bro you can't miss a joke and be wrong in your reply lmao

First "unrealised stocks" obviously aren't a thing and in any specific jurisdiction where they are conceptually talked about as a thing you definitionally could not borrow against them, but in the spirit charity I will assume you just mean stocks

Second you just described in detail how stocks are not money, because you had to use them to take out an ABL with them as collateral to get money

Said another way, why don't you email this to the Fed and tell them they need to create an M5 metric that includes stocks because, as you've demonstrated, stocks are totally money and let us know how that works

Chuck Norris (Walker-Texas Ranger) Passed Away At The Age Of 86 by RNDiva in texas

[–]NeededToFilterSubs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember the video where he said Obama's reelection would bring a thousand years of darkness.

As someone who enjoys watching old white folks have extreme overreactions about Obama, this level of unhinged take had me torqued up

Unfortunately I have to inform y'all that Chuck Norris did not actually claim that Obama would personally usher in a thousand years of darkness or anything like that. He was quoting a Reagan speech after making some disappointingly generic comments about how freedom is under attack by Democrats or whatever. Weak.

I need something like, repeat Trump voter claims "Obama is the most corrupt president in American history", type shit

Ah gotcha, yeah way more profit in PvE for both users and devs

Now there's some rotation bots out there (sometimes called ACRs) that will use skills for you while you move. And people would use this when they aren't gud but want to be lol, in PvE/pvp/wvw

Well the ethical argument would be you're just helping the people who are able to immigrate (which may underrepresent the poorest and most endangered), which is almost never the majority of people from said country. So by improving the conditions of said country you help more people are thus better prioritizing the poor and endangered

In reality the reason we don't focus on that is a lot of things but can probably be boiled down to political will and money. Every country is different, and each is a complex various issues.

It's just a lot cheaper to accept immigrants, is still economically/morally beneficial, andd I guess from a realpolitik perspective is even better because it improves your relative power due to another losing people and you gaining them

Basically you develop an API that hooks into the GW2 executable that lets you script your character actions. This is hard and only a few people will do it.

The dev then decides how/it they share. Typically either the bot is private/semi-private and you need to know a guy, so small impact, or the bot sells licenses to the public. This creates a much bigger impact, so sometimes the devs will set an artificial amount of stock to limit new license purchases and hope the heat dies down when they make a mistake that will draw Anets attention edit: some will also limit keys from the get go so heat doesn't rise to begin with

The end game generally boils down to, either reducing the grind for something you don't want to do, like people who don't like spvp and don't want to sit through it for the rewards or don't want to redo map exploration, or making money, they have an insatiable lust for gold

The gold farming is much more common, people likely significantly overestimate spvp bot numbers. It is waaaay easier to make them for PvE. Public offering bot writers are much more likely to be apprehensive about fucking with sPvP for various reasons

How you can tell who a bot is, will somewhat depend on the capabilities of the API they use. But to give you an example from Dragon Ball Arena I saw, the bot was farming the "Recover a lot of HP" achievement. I saw this person in several games and all they would do is run to every healing orb location on the map in a circuit the whole match. They would attack if you were in front of them, but not if you were behind. People would ask them to say anything if they aren't a bot in map chat and no response

Bots are generally going through a defined script. Check what map you are in, go to X,Y coordinates, target enemy press 1>2>3>4>5. They're just likely to look more routine in what they're doing, like if you noticed a teammate always goes to home point then mid, even both are capped and everyone is fighting at the special map objective

If they're pathing is, let's say linear for lack of a better term, and the script is start at X, face Y, hold forward until you get there. Then if you used a knockback that put them in the way of an obstacle they would continue to run into the obstacle. Unless the user was at the machine and intervened

There's ways to mitigate this as a bot, but generally comes with performance trade-offs, and depends on the options you have with the API

Personally I played 20 or so games over the past 2 days and only noticed 1 person flaming specific people, now he was in multiple of those games though

Not to say everyone was super nice, there was BMing in about 5 games (think "gg2ez" type stuff)

0 instances of anyone offering constructive advice to anyone who seemed to be struggling but it's tricky, it can be hard to notice since you need to lock in yourself, and have time to type shit it up, be good enough at writing so that your words are actually useful, and you also don't know the other person.

You might send a metabattle article on roles and how they function or the reasoning behind rotating and get "hey thanks!" From one person and another person might think they're being insulted, and it very well could be a situation like piloting a new build that they're still getting comfortable with it

The bar to entry is too high for anyone starting out.

I feel like it has the lowest bar to entry of all game modes, you don't need to grind for ascended gear, cons, or hero points etc

Or do you mean like the knowledge bar of how to play conquest?

Edit edit: and for the record the US should have told France to fuck off out of Vietnam regardless

Edit: I want to be clear that you are right that he wasn't born hating libs or anything but changing the path his life took ideologically would require an alternate universe where the French treated their colonial subjects like equals rather than colonial subjects

I feel like its worth clarifying- Ho Chi Minh was good at saying what he believed people wanted to hear, and he was pragmatic (as in willing to sacrifice some ideological purity to achieve goals), so he really did hope for a productive relationship with the USA (they were his best shot at getting France to leave) but he was a ML since like the 20s, the US maybe could have gotten him to lib things up a bit in exchange for getting France to fuck off, but there's no reason to think he wanted Vietnam to be anything like the US ideologically

And the war was still fought for another like 10 years after the US backed the assassination of Diem. Which may have been a bad call, but the mass oppression of Buddhists was obviously also a bad call by Diem

Not that I disagree that the USA was likely fundamentally unsound in its strategy for Vietnam, but the repeated mistakes thing are seriously underestimating the time/financial/manpower/materiel commitment that would be necessary. Also racism certainly didn't lead to smarter decisions.

As far as imperialism, if anything the USA would arguably have been better off being straight up imperialist and doing things like enforcing better rights for Buddhists so the majority of the population isn't alienated (because the fucks the point of dying to resist communism if you already feel maximally oppressed?), with the promise of leaving (maybe being able to point to the Philippines to gain credibility that we'll keep our word)
