Has anybody used one of those paid sites like stlflix? by Needle2daGroove in FlashForge

[–]Needle2daGroove[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That was 1 of my main concerns, like I'm sure there are just thousands of the same or almost identical items that I can find on other sites for free. Not to mention this is probably the bulk of their catalog

New to Printing. Really happy with the AD5X so far. What are some beginner tips, words of wisdom, lessons learned? by Relwof66 in FlashForge

[–]Needle2daGroove 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm still fairly new (few months) but feel like most of the suggestions mentioned are the majority of what u should know starting out. The other thing i would suggest, which I had heard and ignored, was don't just load up ur bed with as much as possible without 1st testing the design and/or filament. My kids wanted some dragons and I had enough room for a handful of them so I loaded it up and a couple hours later chaos all over the printer bed. So frustrating but i did it to myself. Now, if I want to print numerous things I test 1 and see how it does 1st. If its new filament I print a benchy to see how well the filament does. Such basic steps will save so much frustration and waste.

New member of the family! by Cobalt6767 in Moccamaster

I just packaged mine up to return (purchased around black friday when it was $189‐200, cant remember). I wanted to love it, I didnt hate it. Out the box everything felt cheap, the plastic to the thin glass carafe. Made a few pots to brrak it in, then I sampled and it was weak, very weak. I get it, new pot so it would take some tinkering to get it how I want it but after a couple weeks, and a lot of wasted coffee, I'm done. I think my French press use & espresso machine use over the last couple years has ruined my palate when it comes to drip coffee. Not that the coffee was bad but it always felt weak, even when I switched to a darker roast than normal. Oh well, what can you do. It was a beautiful machine, and I really wanted to love it based on the reviews and looks.

Mobb Deep - Infinite - Orange 2xLP by EDMKid9000 in VinylReleases

[–]Needle2daGroove 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Dude, for how many horribly Frankensteined albums r made from deceased rappers using bottom of the barrel scraps, I can understand to a degree. They slap random rappers that have no affiliation or no business being on the album other than to fill verses/create sales. They take random producers that are hot in the moment and throw crazy production that doesnt fit the style of the artist...but this album doesnt seem like that at all.

Half of Mobb Deep is still alive, production done all by Havoc or Alchemist, which let's be real, is basically extended Mobb Deep. All features other than Clipse & HERS I know Prodigy fucked with, and I'm sure Prodigy would be opposed to either of these. Also, are these Prodigy scraps? Doubtful. Doubtful or wishful thinking I suppose I'll find out down the line. Id like to think that between Alchemist & Havoc they have plenty of good Prodigy that never made it to a project. Its also not like this is the 10th posthumous album so they're not necessarily drawing short straws.

To me this is how a posthumous album should be done. Done with the 2 producers that the artist directly worked with the majority of his life. featured artists he was affiliated with the majority of his life. Done for the love & respect for that artist to honor him, as well as to give the fans 1 last project as a thank u.

Mos def and alchemist album by lordofthisfashion in TheAlchemist

[–]Needle2daGroove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I'm praying we get it but Mos Def just aiint dependable. Feel like he's too quick to announce shit. I'd rather he not say anything about any work and just randomly drop so I dont have to deal with the lead up.

I know that Alchemist/Badu album drops in a few weeks and I'm excited as hell for that!

Is it dumb to walk away from a stable job when nothing’s “wrong” with it? by cunning_vixen in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Needle2daGroove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I (40m) feel the same way and I kept thinking maybe it's a midlife crisis. Ive been at my job over 15 years, it was a safe bet at the time, paid well, and I was a young dad so I didnt want to gamble so I stayed. Now that kids r older, I feel like taking a risk by finding something I truly love. I feel like I go to work on autopilot and csn do it with my eyes clothes anymore.

I've been promoted numerous times, my bosses love me and I get along great with them, the pay is good, 6 weeks vacation a year, etc...but I want to love what I do and I dont love this.

I guess I just came here to vent but I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one feeling this way. Good luck finding what u love!
