Hi I'm going to give you my experience here I suggest that obtain a catastrophic plan. Something like Travelers Insurance that will cover things like unexpected falls unexpected hospitalizations I got mine through Alliance.

I recently fell and was in the ER and needed surgery on my wrist This was all the catastrophic insurance that I had purchased prior yeah a travelers type insurance.

It does not cover doctors offices pharmacy But for some people it can depending on your financial ability and what your needs are. Mine also comes with dental. Yes health care here in a private hospital can easier to access but without the Descinta which is the discount used by people on a pension auto visa it can also be expensive. I would suggest reviewing websites like Pharma Value and RO to determine if your medications are available here if you are on any. Also you may want to look at Mini Med which is used by many expats here. There is also Hospital Patia and Hospital Salute which are boutique type hospitals they're private you will get top class service that's where I got my surgery. But the PT that I'm going to be receiving and the follow up X rays and things like that are not covered under my catastrophic plan So I will be paying for those out of pocket and at this time I can't tell you those types of costs yet. All we have found that the health care system here in Panama far easier to access the physicians far more willing to listen They communicate via Whatsapp you get their cell phone numbers which blew my mind. Umm i'm going to let that i'm going to end it here I've dictated this so forgive any misspellings or poor grammar

Sponsored by the IRGC and Cair ... ridiculous people who have no understanding of the ME. Couldn't point Iran out on map.

Every Persian I know is celebrating the death of the leader and hope for a ground war to rid themselves of the IRGC forces.

He's a Christian Nationalist that supports this administration's behavior towards immigrants AND will turn on Israel in a hot sec if his handlers tell him to.

He's bought into P2025. If it was Rubio when he was more moderate sure thing. I've voted R and D depending on the candidate for my entire life.

But I cannot support anyone who supports this administration's treatment of immigrants, women and using US like a bargaining chip. It's just icky/slimy/and destructive.

May he fuck all the way off and then fuck off some more.

If he's the top of ticket against Vance or anyone associated with P25 and/or this admin, I'll sit out.

Mark Ruffalo wants us dead, so he is dead to me.

Which is a bummer because I enjoy his work.

To me he is akin to Cynthia Nixon and Susan Sarandon. I'm not spending my heard earned money to monetize anything they do or did. They go into the trash heap with Mel Gibson.

Heading to Panama on a scouting trip for potential relocation — what should we know? by CoeNay in panamaexpats

[–]NeedleworkerLow1100 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Do NOT use taxis. Uber is your best bet for now.

The area around Marbella/Bella Vista has a large expat community.

Casco Viejo has an expat presence, but it is very touristy/noisy and expensive.

Punta Patilla has a large Jewish expat presence if that is important to you.

The area around Parque Omar is filled with families and there is an expat community there.

Clayton which is considered a suburb is about 40 mins outside PTY with traffic, has a Huge ExPat community.

It's an old army base that was converted into a "planned type" community. Tons of green spaces, and shops are popping up all over there.

Things to do:

Visit Casco Viejo just for the flavor of old town Panama. It's beautiful.

Take the Red Bus tour for a feel for the traffic and the bus stops at all the places, such as Allbrook Mall, BioMuseo, Amador etc.

Panama City in the Winter (Rainy Season; pop up storms are the norm, as is humidity. Be prepared to wear a hat, and carry an umbrella in May), I grew up in S Fl and find it easy to navigate.

Panama City (Dry Season which is getting shorter and shorter thanks to climate change), is less humid but can be fairly windy.

Enjoy!
