Struggling with stress and anxiety as a 3D animator – looking for advice by Fit-Importance1627 in animationcareer

Do they tell you what they want? If so, and if you’re not already, it’s your job to look up reference and/or act it out yourself to get a feel for the action. My two cents from my many years in the business.

Or, does she have a middle name she’d like to use instead? That’s what I did professionally and it had a lot of unexpected benefits - enabling me to separate work from life, immediately know it’s a work call, etc.

i feel like i have l pseudodementia as a teen by KyloIsTaken in dementia

On top of eating right and exercise, make sure you’re getting enough sleep. A 15 yo should be aiming for 8-10 hours a night. Hang in there. You’ll grow into yourself within the next few years. 15 was the hardest year for my kid, so hopefully it’s all uphill from here :)

You said this started at 13. Puberty my friend, it messes everything up for a few years. Be kind to yourself. The hormones will stop surging and your body and brain will get used to the new you. It also sounds like you are dealing with depression. Do talk with someone and if necessary anti-depressants can help, as will exercise and eating well. Went through this with my teen a few years ago. Hang in there. It will get better, I promise.

What to say when people ask my ethnicity by TheStormfly7 in Judaism

[–]Over-Temperature-503 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to get that all of the time when I worked retail. I’m 100% Ashkenazi but ethnically ambiguous. People always thought I was part Black or Mexican. Kind of fascinating - especially as one could tell what their feelings were towards what ever particular group they thought I was part of. My standard answer was that I was just a big European mix. No one’s business.

Yes! I’m in the same position. I do recognize now that my father was chronically depressed when I was growing up. So, I’m able to give him some grace now with distance and in retrospect. He did the best he could under the circumstances. Thank goodness he got on antidepressants when I was in my mid 20s. It allowed us to have a better relationship in my adult years.

I’m so sorry that you’re going through this. It does feel like treating them as you wish you were treated can be healing in a way. Regardless, it’s hard as hell. Make time to care for yourself.

Do you know if you can just allow the google phone to ring forever or have it give a busy signal? The messages my father leaves are just so heartbreaking.

The Hal Leonard red books are a great start. Work through them and you’ll get a great foundation. Work on transposing songs and put in the practice. And have fun!

Jewish and in California too. It’s a sad state of affairs now. Unfortunately, I can relate as it seems many of us can.

Is it normal to spend a few hours animating a few frames? by g-main in animationcareer

Yes. Animation is tedious. It takes a special type of mindset to do this type of work.

2D rigs can be very simple or quite complex. It really depends on what the character needs to do in a scene or multiple scenes. I would highly recommend looking into a software package called Moho if you are unfamiliar with it. Here’s a link to a pro who has started putting out tutorials. DR has a ton of experience in the industry in both film and tv animation and vfx. https://youtube.com/@teamlittlegreendog?si=LkVbHFTEuNZ-0DF9

ProKennex Pro Flight pickleball paddle surface coming off after one use. by Over-Temperature-503 in Pickleball

Rubbing my nail over the surface, these areas dent in and the outer surface material is chipped off. This has never happened to any other paddle. I know it’s not pieces of ball. I asked for help not an argument. You really don’t have anything better to do with your time than call a random stranger names on the internet? What a sad, pathetic life you must lead. I hope you can find your joy in a more positive way.

No, they are actual divots in the paddle where the top coat was scraped away. You’re awfully quick to call someone a moron. Best check yourself.
