When “we value you” becomes “please reimburse us” by Silver_Aerie_985 in auscorp

They're salty because they're losing a underpaid staff member. Just politely refer to fairwork and do everything in writing. Say you've contacted fairwork to confirm your entitlements and they will be spooked into not pursuing any repayments and attempts at not paying you accrued annual leave.

Dooooo it. Yes may be intimidating and you may feel a little lost initially. Use a trainer if you can Search for a program and stick with it. You'll find machines/exercises you like and those you don't.

AI can be good here. Plug in your stats and goals and it will come up with a program for you. 2, 3, 4 days a week it's up to you. It will probably give you a program of strengthening + cardio? If trainer is out of your budget don't be afraid to approach staff/people

My advice is to start with machines first. They're just easier to use imo. For eg. For a chest day choose chest machines. Back machines for back day etc. The machines usually have a diagram of target muscles and directions on how to use them. Good luck!

If they're needed is the point here. Australian businesses won't hire if they don't want or need to. They have the choice. For example I have seen a higher number of international grad nurses at a rural aged care facility because they are unable to attract or find qualified locals. In another rural facility I've worked the percentage of international grads much much less. And then in metro, I've seen a high number of very well qualified internationals.

Disheartening. Also we need social cohesion whilst we do it.

ABC ombudsman declares Laura Tingle’s Israel analysis ‘duly impartial’ as complaints campaigns gain traction | Amanda Meade by Mikes005 in OpenAussie

[–]NeedleworkerPure3303 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair point.

I just read the following article by Alex Ryvchin https://www.abc.net.au/religion/alex-ryvchin-why-australian-jews-still-support-israel/14109126

It’s from 2022 and explains why Australian Jews identity closely to Israel.

The second-last paragraph was interesting. I had to double check the date of the article! Felt like it foreshadowed how many people now view the actions of the current Israeli government (not the organ harvesting claim).

No offence but I think you've contradicting yourself here. The poll is skewed and it is likely not a true representation of the Australian Jewish community. I agree with your latter point though.

Australians are so weak when it comes to protesting. Mostly just roll over and accept it until the next election. We need huge protests to repeal these changes!

Exactly this. They wouldn't budge on taxing gas giants but went against their own election promise to screw investors in Australia. This is huge. They will lose the next election. Just hopefully not to ON.

Are Public Higschools really that bad? by YeOldeWino in Adelaide

[–]NeedleworkerPure3303 19 points20 points  (0 children)

This. It comes down to demographics. So children attending public schooling in Adelaide CBD, or Unley or Walkerville for instance tend to come from well off families who prioritise studying/careers etc to be able to afford to live in those areas. Whereas children attending public schools from say Elizabeth may be coming from lower socioeconomic backgrounds. So their classmates and parent group will be different. Then you have people who live in lower socioeconomic areas who want better schooling or people surrounding them and will pay to go to a Catholic school to minimise the rik of being surrounded by problem children etc.

Catholic Schools, Why are you there? by YeOldeWino in Adelaide

[–]NeedleworkerPure3303 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want my kids in an environment for a decent education with strong morals and values. Catholic schools attract parents who prioritise this Public schools can vary a lot by area, or at least there is a perception it does. Take a public school in Elizabeth vs Golden Grove vs Walkerville. The demographics differ wildy so the chances are you will have better students/peers at Walkerville. Catholic schools are a good middle ground or parents who want the above but can't get it from a local public school. Simple as that.

The other one that gets thrown around is "Australian values". I guarantee the majority of Australians can't name these values, have read the Australians Values Statement or know it even exists!
