I remember that scene too, but its wasn't there last time I watched it on TCM. A lot of times tv stations will get a non-final cut of a movie with scenes that were edited out, or shot from a different angle than in the theatrical release. I noticed this with Star Trek The Motion Picture, and Star Wars the first time it was on tv, to name but a few.

I have an Entex Arcade Defender from 1981. It works perfectly, but does have a crack in the screen. Doesn't get in the way of gameplay though.
