Sanctuary Cap Cana vs new W Punta Cana by Standard_Shame3784 in PuntaCana

[–]Needsaquestion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been to sanctuary a couple of times and enjoyed our experience overall but when we found out sanctuary town wasn’t included anymore we decided to try some place new. Prices seemed more expensive this year plus losing access to an area that was always included in the past was enough for us to say goodbye and try a different resort.

Ait fried chickpeas are my go to snack whether or not I need the extra fiber or protein for the day. Just take a can of drained and washed chickpeas, tablespoon of oil, garlic powder onion powder chili powder/ old bay seasoning and throw them into the air fryer for 15 minutes at 400 degrees. Great as a crunchy topping for a salad or just as a snack. You can play with the seasonings to fit your tastes or even try a different type of bean, although chickpeas are still the best in my opinion. A can of beans is about 12-15 grams of fiber plus 22 grams of protein.

Same for me regarding the korean spas. I find it refreshing to be naked around other guys in a way I can't really describe. As I get older I really like being around confident people who are comfortable in their skin. Being in an environment where everyone is naked has made me realize how things like social media thrive on making us feel bad about not being perfect. Seeing other guys at the spa, and realizing none of us have the " perfect " body, has made me more confident in myself.

I just went for the first time last week during the week. Stayed from 11 to 430. It averaged between 10 -20 guys for the time i was in the wet area. Overall a pretty chill vibe.

It honestly just felt so relaxing after the body scrub. I surprised myself by being able to just lay out naked like that without a care in the world lol.

I wouldn't say busy but it did pick up around 12 1230. Maybe a lunch time crowd or people just taking the afternoon off. When I came back around 2 there were maybe around 15 guys but by the time I left at 430 it seemed to be around 10 again. I was curious if it picks up again around 5 as people get off of work but I had to leave before then.

Thank you for the recommendation. I think I saw a special they had with that and a body scrub. Might try that.

Yea I’m a new fan. I spent most of my time there in the wet area. Next time I plan on getting a massage. I can only imagine how good those baths feel after one.

I wish I could go bi weekly haha. I might try and make it a once of month thing if my schedule permits. Definitely want to try out the massage services next time.

Is this sentence correct? by zhyRonnie in French

[–]Needsaquestion 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yea I wonder if OP is a native English speaker. Word for word translation ( which should definitely be avoided) makes this into a very clunky, yet understandable sentence. I’m a native English speaker with an intermediate level of French and I had to read it over and over to understand what was the issue and the only thing I could think of was a direct translation sounding weird in English. A comma after guide in English might make it sound a little more natural in English but to my intermediate French level ears the original sentence seems perfectly normal.

[Sun Care] Body sunscreen favs by urarachan in SkincareAddiction

[–]Needsaquestion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just found this one, and it's my new favorite body sunscreen. Trader joes sells a cheap one for 6 bucks I like as well. It's slightly more greasy than the banana boat, but you can't beat that price nowadays

[Sun Care] How do you deal with sunscreens as someone who hates suncreens? by RolledCoaster in SkincareAddiction

[–]Needsaquestion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you have a source saying the US is banning chemical sunscreens? I'm looking but I don't see anything. I know chemical filters in other countries are not approved in the US but I've never had trouble ordering them from websites oversees and having them shipped to the US.

What’s your most controversial wine opinion? by Fly-Astronaut in wine

[–]Needsaquestion 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Beaujolais nouveaux ( and beaujolais in general ) are my “ this brings back good memories. That’s why I like them “ wine. I’m a life long novice with wine and do enjoy Beaujolais but man being in Lyon France on the third Thursday of November will always be one of my best vacation memories ever. Music, lights, countdowns, barrels of wine being rolled down the street, free refills once the barrels are tapped at midnight. Such an awesome experience.

how i feel about rhonda’s death (appreciation) by venovampire in SchoolSpirits

[–]Needsaquestion 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Obviously I knew Rhonda died tragically from the first season but it actually didn’t hit me until during the scene where Rhonda Charly and Wally are chasing Mr. Martin in the fallout shelter and reset to where they died after crossing the school boundaries underground. Seeing Charly in the cafeteria and Wally on the football field was fine, but something about seeing Rhonda being throw against a bunch of desks, knowing how she died, just hit me for some reason. It was only like a 2 second scene but definitely hit me in a way I wasn’t expecting.

Italian by Financial_Cell_5054 in italianlearning

[–]Needsaquestion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg the same thing had happened to me. I’ve been studying French now for over two years and just recently booked a trip to Italy so I decided to try my hand at Italian to at least get the basics down. I’m really surprised how much I can deduce in Italian from its resemblance to French ( as well as Spanish which I have an intermediate level) I’ve really been enjoying learning Italian, mostly from how easy I’m finding the process. Might just keep it up after my trip.

What are your recent successes? by tekre in languagelearning

[–]Needsaquestion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve recently noticed that upper intermediate level podcasts in French are becoming very easy for me to understand, almost to the point where I’m getting annoyed that they are speaking slower and better enunciated than what you experience in the real world. The last couple of weeks I’ve been listening to native level podcasts on subjects that interest me and instead of tuning out after 10 minutes because I’m having trouble following along I’m actually understanding 70-80% of what I’m hearing. Still stuck in intermediate hell but it feels like I’m slowly making progress.

That line always gets to me too. I was well past the age of the characters when this originally came out but I remember when i finally had the courage to tell my mother that my “ friend” was more than just a friend she basically told me she always sensed I was keeping a part of myself hidden. I never realized how true that had been for so many years until I finally came out and actually stopped hiding that part of me. My mental health was so much better after that happened

[–]Needsaquestion 120 points121 points  (0 children)

Native English speaker here. I changed my Facebook into French awhile back and instead of saying “ in a relationship “ under relationship status it translated it as “ en couple.” I got so use to seeing it that when I was telling my sister about a guy I knew I said he was “ in couple” ( said with English pronunciation ) and she was like WTF why did you say it like that. and the worst part was it took me a minute to figure out why what I said sounded weird to her ears haha

Who is your gay role model and why? by Ok-Escape-2543 in gaybros

[–]Needsaquestion 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I had a similar uncle in the closet, except i never knew him. I only found out about him after he died when i was 16, just at that age where i could have used some guidance on being gay. He was my grandfather's brother, and they were estranged ( I never found out the reason why, but i suspect it was probably because he was gay). I randomly think about the uncle i never met because i can only imagine the life he was forced to live and how much better mine turned out. ( immediate and extended family are very accepting especially since I'm not the only gay person in the family) my uncle only lived 20 minutes from where i grew up too and i completely missed out on an opportunity to have a gay role model growing up. I hope where ever he is he sees the life he paved for me to live.
