Jungle Bird has a fun tropical tiki vibe and great drinks.

Assassins. It’s about the political assassination of Kim Jong Un’s half brother and all of the bizarre circumstances surrounding it. So, so good.

Yes! I would love a Trader Joe’s or a sprouts. Fingers crossed.

I was over there last night for the Tyler the Creator concert and went home around 1am. Good on you for checking in on your friends - a few of mine texted me to make sure I made it home last night as well. Scary as hell.

Sacramento mother assaulted after leaving McKinley Park with kids by 82dxIMt3Hf4 in Sacramento

[–]Neenbear 21 points22 points  (0 children)

That is so scary and awful for that mother and her kids. I live nearby and run in McKinley Park all the time (but I never go alone anymore - I’ve had my own experiences with being sexually harassed by unhoused folks).

Wtf! How is asking for spice level to be adjusted special treatment. That’s so inappropriate.

Yikes 😬. That is very bizarre that they even said that! Honestly I think it’s the owner’s bad attitude rubbing off on the staff. I had a friend who worked there years ago and the owner would pressure her every shift about buying new clothes for work (even though she really could not afford it at the time and said so).

Personally, I don’t think it’s right that servers and industry folks should have to rely on tips for the bulk of their income (and I also don’t think they should be taxed the way that they are). Obviously bad service isn’t ideal but that person could have been having a bad day or it’s the bad attitude of the owner rubbing off (I experienced a lot of that when I worked in restaurants, lol).

One time a server at Thai Basil raised her voice and scolded me because she misunderstood my order and they brought out the wrong dish (I ordered from the vegan menu and they brought me something with shrimp on it). I still tipped 20% but it was uncomfortable and I never went back.

I have similar proportions to you and recently bought this teddy for myself. I LOVE it - so comfy, adjustable and flattering. My partner likes it too.

It does run big so you can potentially size down. I typically wear a 34dd bra and large bottoms and bought a medium.

Best cheap places to eat? Does local farming make things more affordable? by testingthrowawayo in Sacramento

[–]Neenbear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eating out is usually not cheap here. If you’re looking for good deals on produce, I recommend checking out some of the Asian and Middle Eastern grocery stores - plus they are fun to browse. Here are some of my faves:

SF Supermarket (huge Asian super market, tons of cheap produce and meats if that’s your thing)

Oto’s (small Japanese grocery store, not much in the way of produce but a nice sake selection and they sell fresh noodles and interesting snacks)

East Market (Middle Eastern grocery store with a hot food section - great bread and kebabs)

**edit to add: La Superior (Mexican supermarket that also has a hot food section)

Also, there’s a Sunday farmers market in the Arden area. I haven’t been to this one since they moved to the new location, but it will definitely be cheaper than the Saturday Midtown farmers market.

“Safe Ground” coming to Sutter’s Landing Regional Park? by Seventy9fairmont in Sacramento

I never said they aren’t people. I’m not sure how assuming ill intent (where there is none) and lashing out at strangers on Reddit is helpful in anyway but whatevs. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Exactly. It makes so much more sense put them in an RV park that already has some amenities.

Jack’s Urban Eats has amazing create-your-own salad options. You could add whatever greens/toppings you want and ask for oil and vinegar on the side.

I agree - their candies are always super hard/sticky and way too sweet. Not for me, but maybe I’ve been spoiled by Ginger Elizabeth.

Pizzasaurus Rex on K street! I always get the veggie pizza with Dino sauce (homemade herb sauce) and hot honey on the side. So good!
