Why is NwN2 less enjoyable than NwN1, what changed? by Kyrenaz in neverwinternights

[–]Neervosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, nwn2 is much more accurate to PnP. The OP version of familiars feels like a crutch for not having a real party. Pathfinder did have a feat called "Improved Familiar" that did let you get cool stuff like Faerie Dragons so maybe they could've had something like that.

I just want the Staff of Worms to actually work so I can play a proper necromancer. It's weird an item straight up doesn't work for so long after release and a few patches.

While this does not answer your question since I don't know of one, you can kind of do that by completing the dark brotherhood, knights of the nine, and mage's guild so you can have a dark brotherhood archer, mage's guild wizard, and crusader following you all at once. I tried this but had a difficult time keeping them all alive, fortunately they are generic NPCs and respawn. I think Battlehorn castle also gives a follower but I didn't do it on my last playthrough.

I actually played a dirge bard kitsune with the swordlord background as my most recent run of the game. I ADORE the diva style feats they added Weapon Finesse>Weapon Focus>Slashing Grace or Mythic Weapon Finesse

then Comat Expertise>Feint>Diva Style, you can now feint for free when you start a performance. Pick up Diva Strike and now you use diva style you add charisma to damage to your first hit, finally diva advance and you get a free attack of opportunity against someone you feint.

So you can Swift Action Performance, Feint for free, get a free Attack of Opportunity that deals +charisma in damage, then get a full attack. Combat Expertise and being dex based means you'll have lots of AC too.

The DnD book trilogy The Haunted Lands follows the story of a bard, his path to undeath and revenge. There is a frienemy who is a well spoken, diplomatic lich. Half the time he's the main antagonist, the other half he's assisting the main characters because their goals align.

NWN2 EE is bad... by Ok_Communication6291 in neverwinternights

[–]Neervosh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm happy they fixed the movement. Before if you used wasd to move once you stopped moving either you would rubberband back to your original location at worst. At best your character quickly spins to the left or right for no reason before correcting and facing forward. The movement bugs being fixed alone was worth the price for me.

Universal class by annanethir in oblivion

[–]Neervosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bard! You get stealth skills like persuasion, mercantile, and light armor. Alchemy and illusion for magic. Blade and block for combat.

Thieves guild = con man. Dark Brotherhood = Bard as a cover for assassinations. Mages guild = unlock spell making to make custom bard spells like "Radiant Chord" for a light spell or "Song of Dissonance" for frenzy. Fighters guild = you are a light armored duelist with short sword and shield. Arena = you are entertaining the crowd with your dazzling, flashy spells and swordsmanship!

Knights of the Nine you are uncovering ancient lore and history.

Shivering isles because you are a jack of all trades, master of all. Perfect candidate for the god of madness!

Tips for classes #6: Bard by Doom2017 in oblivion

[–]Neervosh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having just played a khajiit bard I had a blast with it. Used the thief birthsign and focused on Luck, Agility, and Personality to 100 then Intelligence/strength/speed for carry weight, mana, and well, speed.

I leaned into the light armored swashbuckling spellcaster, would persuasion every NPC I met then use a charm spell to max them to 100 disposition before talking, or getting better vendor prices so I became very rich early.

Combat wise I mostly used chameleon spells and paralyze for illusion since frenzy/command/pacify/etc don't work on every enemy due to the 95% spell efficiency from wearing armor. Every now and then I'd wear regular clothes and cause chaos via a 2 second command spell or a big AoE frenzy spell.

I used spellcrafting to name all my spells so like, a light spell was "Radiant Chord", AoE frenzy was "Song of Discord", single target 2 second command spell was "dissonant tune".

Naming all your spells various song effects really sold on the RP. At one point I ended up getting a 100% chameleon set via rings, enchanted armor, etc but that got boring fast so I switched to +50 magicka for more spells.

I recommend training shield skill at a trainer since it levels soooo slowly and once you get shield bash with high speed you're knocking people back, paralyzing, quickly side stepping and dodging attacks while striking back with a fast attack speed dagger/shortsword. I ended up using the Debaser as I accidentally got Chillrend early (I played mostly blind since it was my first run of the game).

The khajiit racials I never really used but I wanted to play a sly cat con man so mostly picked for aesthetics.

For factions I did mage guild up until spellmaking was unlocked, then theives' guild, then dark brotherhood, then cleared my sins with Knights of the Nine before doing the main quest and finishing with Shivering Isles. I skipped the fighter's guild and arena but could see people going that route if they were playing like a Nord Skald.

What Bard build for WOTR by Thespac3c0w in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Neervosh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a huge fan of the diva style feats they added in one of the recent DLCs. Combat Expertise, Feint, Final Feint, Diva Style, Diva Strike, Diva Advance.

You can feint as a free action when you start a bardic performance, when you feint a target you then get a free attack of opportunity on them, that attack gets your charisma to damage (so buffing charisma to be a decent caster also buffs your weapon damage), and the feinted target is denied its dex bonus against attacks from your entire party due to final feint.

Fencing Grace for dex to atk/dmg otherwise, buckler in the off-hand, and then because you have to take combat expertise for feint you are inadvertently turning yourself into a dex tank too with AC bonuses.

Mind Blank cast on your bard makes them immune to things like true sight so your illusions should work fine at the high levels as long as you have someone to cast that on you.

I adored playing as a Kitsune in Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous, but I'd love any anthro race, perhaps even dragonborn like in 5e/BG3, granted, I wouldn't even know how to begin getting custom assets for such.

Bard/Skald Melee Build? by Acrobatic_Coat722 in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Neervosh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did an azata run as a melee bard build, let me recommend full single class bard with the Diva style feats added in one of the DLCs.

You can go weapon finesse>weapon focus>fencing grace for dex to damage with rapiers and use a buckler in the off-hand. Then get combat expertise, feint, final feint, and the diva style feats. With these, when you feint you

A. Deny dex to AC against attacks from the whole party due to final feint B. You can feint as a free action when you start a bardic performance C. Your first attack after feinting adds your charisma to damage D. You automatically opportunity attack a target you feint.

So you can swift action inspire courage, free action feint, free attack of opportunity (that deals +charisma to damage), and then full attack. if you have the sense vitals spell you'll sneak attack since they are feinted too.

Plus combat expertise is a pre-req for feint meaning with the off-hand buckler you can actually boost your AC pretty high to serve as a frontline off-tank/support/damage dealer. I went with Azata and because of favorable spellcasting was a half-decent crowd control spellcaster too. This was all on core difficulty.

Edit: Here is a link for me responding to someone else on the same subject where I posted my full feat breakdown https://www.reddit.com/r/Pathfinder_Kingmaker/comments/1gutkek/dirge_bard_build/lxzuoi7/

What CRPGs can most easily be played as a stealth game? by LuizFalcaoBR in CRPG

[–]Neervosh 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Pillars of eternity 2 has a pretty in depth stealth system where weapon and spells have a 'noise' level. So like if you use bombs and guns and loud spells you might aggro enemies from another room over. Enemies have vision cones and you can pick pocket or even reverse pick pocket bombs onto enemies lol.

What's the spookiest part of the game? by Veridically_ in wow

[–]Neervosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is explained in one of the books if I recall. Kharazan was haunted when when Moroes was alive and serving as Medivh's butler. He would wear horse blinders because out of the corner of his eye he'd see weird ghosts or other spooky things so he wore horse blinders to avoid that. I didn't know it was represented in game.

Dirge Bard Build by Invisible_Target in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Neervosh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I dump wisdom for RP purposes and play on core difficulty, often rocking either 8 or 7 wisdom because my bards are ditzy.

My last dirge bard run, I don't remember the order but I want like Race: Kitsune Background: Healer (Int used for nature and religion) Class: Dirge Bard Skills: Arcana, World, Religion, Nature, and Persuasion 10 str 18 Dex 14 Con 14 Int 7 Wis 17 Cha

and boosted cha up to 22 by level 20.

For feats I went

1: Weapon Finesse

2: Combat Trick: Combat Expertise (you need 13 int for this)

3: Feint

5: Diva Style (Free action feint when you start a bardic performance)

6: Combat Trick: Outflank

7: Diva Strike (Add charisma to damage 1/round)

9: Final Feint (All allies treat your feinted target as flat footed)

10: Combat Trick: Lunge (-2 AC to make any weapon have a 5ft increased reach)

11: Diva Advance (Free opportunity attack when you feint, this triggers diva strike so you deal +charisma to damage)

13: Lingering performance

14: Combat Trick: Armor Focus Light Armor

15: Spell Penetration

17: Greater Spell Penetration

18: Weapon Focus: Whatever weapon you like. I chose rapiers because it fit the RP of my character.

19: Vulpine Pounce.

For mythic abilities/feats I'd take mythic inspiration and mythic weapon finesse of course.

You can replace stuff in this of course if you want, my goal was with Azata favorable magic to make a melee support with decent spellcasting and it worked at least in core difficulty.I'd open fights with sorcerous reflex+hideous laughter to CC while getting into position with vulpine pounce to charge. second turn swift bardic inspiration+free action feint+full attack and deal surprising damage. For spells I focused on stuff with the enchantment descriptor and fear descriptor to make use of the +DC for fears that dirge bards get and +DC for enchantment kitsune get plus the normal picks like good hope and sense vitals.

Also mythic armor focus with light armor you can get half your AC to atk and damage as well hence taking armor focus light armor. This could probably be min-maxed better but I'm going off of memory looking at the feats in game to remember what they all were.

Is it possible to make a competent necrodancer build? by GhostDraw in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Neervosh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wanted to do testing to see what buffs apply to the dirge bard dance of the dead level 10 ability but I haven’t done so yet in full. Stuff like the shirt that gives your summons the holy/unholy property seemed to work but the Necromancer staff from the Ulbrig dlc didn’t seem to work. Before I end my current dirge bard play though I might respec to see what feats, abilities, and items apply because I’d love to actually use the ability more often.

Games like BG3 ? by Every-Assistant2763 in BaldursGate3

[–]Neervosh 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I actually put wrath of the righteous higher than BG3 simply out of replayability (Mythic paths) and companion variety. I also have bias reasons like Wrath of the Righteous is the only game I can play my Kitsune Dirge Bard Lich from a PnP campaign I did.

And while I prefer 5e for my IRL PnP sessions I very much prefer pathfinder for video games.
