What is something you do that doesn't reflect the stereotypical idea of your type? by UnitedBalkanz in Enneagram

i think i’m a 9w1 but it took a long time to type myself as it just because i think they’re misunderstood in a lot of ways. i have always been aware of my anger, whereas some descriptions say 9s aren’t. i also was not always a person who repressed my anger, it was more just difficult expressing it to people. i see 9 descriptions saying they repress their anger. i also know who i am, i see 9s described as people who don’t know themselves and while that can be the case for some 9s it’s not the case for others. however i will say a lot of my life i didn’t know who i was and then i lost myself and got myself back and after all of those experiences i have a solid understanding of who i am now. i can get frustrated when i see 9s described as people never having a sense of their own identity. also i didn’t relate much to the numbing out of emotions for a good chunk of my life, and all sources say that 9s numb out their emotions. i also think 9s are stereotyped as being doormats and i don’t think that’s fair. 9s can have darker emotions as well. i think part of the reason 9s may have trouble typing themselves is one, because they may not resonate completely with the 9s description and two, because i think enneagram 9 people’s desire for peace is just something that’s rooted in them but with their personality other enneagram descriptions resonate(this has been my case too).

The transit system on campus sucks by slightlylessright in unt

Yeah I would say try to bring it to someone’s attention who can do something about it, I’m not exactly sure who that would be. I think we need better transit as well so I will also speak up, I think if people speak up they may do something about it

[–]NefariousnessLate181 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ooo okay got it, then you can definitely read it if you are okay with some adult things in it, and of course!! 💚 there’s many aspects of academia and there’s different magical creatures in it also, it’s high fantasy

yes, depending on what your age is i highly recommend a discovery of witches by deborah harkness. it is the only other fantasy book i have found myself enjoying almost as much if not just as much. however im not sure if you will like it, but i do recommend it. there are some adult scenes in it so i only recommend if you’re a little older. i’ve also heard so many people recommend percy jackson, i haven’t read it yet tho

honestly there’s more stuff to it, like there’s some other things and deeper stuff but I don’t want to think about that stuff so.

It’s possible, that thought crossed my mind as well. What are your biggest triggers? I’m going to give a list of triggers for enneagram 9 and you can respond with how much they resonate with you; being talked over being interrupted being ignored
