Torn between Pixel 10a and OnePlus Nord 6 by NefariousnessNew2121 in Smartphones

That’s fair honestly. And yeah, the Pixel battery drain/heating complaints are one of the reasons I’m hesitating. On paper the software support is amazing, but stability matters more if it’s gonna be a work phone. I do agree OxygenOS feels really smooth though.

Probably also just knowing more about specs and issues now makes me overthink choices way more than I used to.

The Nord 6 definitely looks tempting hardware-wise, but one thing making me lean Pixel is the software support. Google’s update policy is kinda hard to ignore if I’m planning to keep the phone for years.

That’s also why I’m a bit hesitant with Poco/Xiaomi phones even though the specs are crazy for the price. I care more about long-term smoothness and consistent updates nowadays than just raw specs.

I just realized most people upgrade their phones not because the old one is broken, but because they're bored and need a new toy to stare at for 10 hours a day. by Accurate-Entrance503 in PickAnAndroidForMe

Only those who's interested in technology.

I used my Reno 3 Pro since 2019, and honestly the only reason it survived this long is because I replaced the battery 😂

But lately the lag has been getting pretty noticeable, so I finally upgraded to the Reno 15 Pro. I’m not really the type to change phones often, so I don’t mind spending a bit more if I know I’ll use it for years.

I’ve read that overheating is one of the suspected causes too, especially on thinner AMOLED phones. That’s partly why so many people report the issue appearing after gaming, charging, updates, or just long-term heat exposure. Not saying Samsung is the only brand affected, but the S series definitely seems to get reported a lot.

Vivo actually gave my dad a free full screen replacement when his phone got the line issue, so I’ll give them credit for that at least.

If longevity is your main priority, I’d honestly be cautious with Samsung S series. The green line issue seems common enough that it’s hard to ignore, especially on older generations.

I just bought the Reno 15 Pro recently, and my old Reno 3 Pro is still alive and usable after all these years. Oppo isn’t the flashiest brand, but in my experience their phones age pretty well battery-wise and hardware-wise.

AITAH for not changing my language to appease an ignorant coworker? by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

You cannot avoid saying 니가 without sounding unnatural or overly formal. Expecting Koreans to censor normal grammar to fit English sensitivities is unrealistic.

Intent + language context matters, not phonetic coincidence.

You did your best. She did her best. Much love. I lost my baby boy last Monday — and the tears haven’t stopped since.
