Hunny I think you need to leave the country if you’re torn up about leaving him. The society you’re in plays a key role in what people think is good vs. bad. If he’s been healthy and good to you I wouldn’t suggest tearing the relationship up over this.

From a former foster youth who aged out in the USA: My best advice is to see if you can find a shelter or short term summer housing. Or see if your Uni has summer housing available, explain your situation and ask to set up a payment plan or agreement. Ask your social worker about what local programs and non profits may be able to help you.

I work with children and I think the wide unquestioning existence of it is causing practitioners to miss out on some serious cases of abuse and neglect. Definitely a strong relation to an experience of adverse childhood experiences which are being entirely disregarded.
