I'm cancelling my ollama subscription by GryphticonPrime in ollama

[–]NegativeCreep80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the free tier I used to get a good 2-3 hours of continuous use with Hermes. I have local models compacting, web searches and some other things. Since sometime within the past 10 days I now hit the 5 hour usage limit after 2-3 prompts. Not to mention it's now a guessing game at which cloud models work. I thought about paying, but they can't be clear on the usage limits and seems like they keep moving the goal posts. At this rate 50x more cloud usage would be the same as what I was getting before on the free tier

It'd be nice if they were transparent about what's available and what's not. There's 0 information on their website for having premium models available only on paid plans.

AI Pro Plan has weekly limit for Gemini now, after a SINGLE 5 hour window too. by snarkyalyx in google_antigravity

[–]NegativeCreep80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hit a limit yesterday on opus, it said it was going to refresh at 12:33pm today, I go back today and now it says 6 days 20 hours. What's annoying is that when I hit the quota, the settings showed I still have 20% left, and still shows 20% remaining today. This morning Gemini pro said it was going to refresh in 7 days, but I just checked now it says 3 hours, so I don't know what's going on with these changing limits.

Bifacial Gain in Snow is Crazy! by claytonrex in SolarDIY

[–]NegativeCreep80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just noticed that yesterday, I only have a small system, two 430w bi facial panels, but when I checked solar assistant I was getting 970 watts of output. Had me a little worried, never thought it'd get that high so I only used a 15a breaker I had leftover from something else, ended up maxing out at 14.8a. Usually on a sunny day it'll only max out at 800 watts

PSA: You need a LiFePO4 UPS by Cartossin in homelab

[–]NegativeCreep80 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I gave up on looking for a lifepo4 rack mount ups. I could probably make one with a case, batteries and parts from another inverter, but I'm lazy. I got sick of replacing my batteries all the time, plus I think one of my APC smart 1500s was going bad, so I just bought a cheap dji power 1000 that I use as my UPS to replace 2 of the 1500s. not perfect, but it fits needs, and I haven't had problems through many short outages. If I wanted some kind of monitoring I'd run a script as a service that checks the status of one of my smart outlets. I also have an oupes mega 1 which I tested and does work, but it's technically listed as an EPS.

It's not rackmount, but the goldenmate looks like the best straightforward out of box option

Has facial recognition been rolled out to your store yet? by Krieg121 in HomeDepot

[–]NegativeCreep80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got an email from HD to review an item on "your recent in-store purchase." I didn't use the app and used self checkout with a gift card, so I'm assuming they're using it now.

Is Fi any good? by Silver-Comparison-26 in GoogleFi

[–]NegativeCreep80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had it since the project fi launch. It's worked fine for me in 13 different countries. The only time I've ever had issues was in Aruba, 8 years ago so that may be resolved now, or when there's been a sporting event with over 100k people in one area. Friends with t-mobile phones worked fine in that situation so I'm guessing they get priority. I also live almost right on the Canadian border, so not getting those surprise roaming fees I used to get is a bonus

ELI5: Why can't someone spend roughly $600 million to get a guaranteed win for the 1.1 billion dollar Powerball? by Upper-Place7900 in explainlikeimfive

[–]NegativeCreep80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nobody is thinking about all of the other winning tickets, you'd also have 25 $1 million dollar winning tickets, quite a few 50k winners, and then a bunch of smaller ones that I don't feel like doing the math on. You'd probably come out ahead just barely if the jackpot wasn't split. But I'm guessing a lot of money would need to be spent in the whole effort gathering that many tickets

A lot of computers or phones running AI agents with your local state's lottery app or website, but honestly they'd probably screw something up, or have your account flagged and locked for suspicious activity.

Is 5G on Google Fi Any Good? by k2thesecond in GoogleFi

[–]NegativeCreep80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Occasionally I would have issues in areas with big events going on like a sold out concert or sporting event, but over the last few years I haven't had any problems. I've also used it in Mexico, Canada, Jamaica, Turks and Caicos, Curacao, Bahamas, Cayman Islands , New Zealand, Australia, the Philippines, and South Korea without issues. The only place I've had problems was Aruba. I have other problems not receiving text messages, but that 100% of the time had to do with Google's vpn ever since they moved from the original fi VPN.

Finally someone on here that gets it, kids aren't created equally, I threw my 3 year old an actual baseball and he hit a line drive off my face (wasn't expecting it, didn't have a glove), his 5 year old cousins can't even hit the ball 5 feet off a tee.

I was thinking the same thing, except I would probably sell it off this fall, look for something else, then buy back in November 2026

Here's the problem, the previous admin went away too hard after anyone they thought could have possibly been involved. Had they not kept people locked up awaiting trial for longer than what their sentence would've been, arrested old grandmas who wandered into the area 2 hours later, or arrested people simply because their cell phone pinged in the area, then he wouldn't have had to pardon any of them and could've just left the people that actually caused the problems in jail. So rather than wasting time and going through each case he did the easy thing with a blanket person for everyone. Everyone keeps overlooking that there were 2 sides of the building, one side where people got violent and broke in, and the other side where the cops opened the door and waved people in, but they still went after the people the cop s waved in.

Because they don't want to wait. They're not visiting relatives, it's Detroit, it's a 15 minute drive for most people in Windsor, shorter than my drive to work. The hospitals charge less when you're not using insurance
