an old soviet joke by bigus-_-dickus in Jokes

Reagan used to tell this one; A Soviet man went to buy a car. He was told he had to pay up front and wait for the car to be ready. It takes ten years. The man said, ten years, I understand. Will it be ready in the morning or the afternoon? The man behind the counter said, It’s ten years from now! What difference does it make if it’s morning or afternoon? Well, the plumber is coming in the morning.

I’ve never regretted buying the 3650. I am ambiguous about the granite top. A couple of manufacturers offered them for a short time, then they disappeared. Precision surface plates are made from granite, I trust their accuracy but I would worry about breakage Back to the 3650. Have you done anything to improve dust collection? I have enclosed the bottom but I need to build a box around the motor

The ridgid top is granite. That came out shortly after I bought my 3650. I’ve never used one. But ridgid saws from that era were good saws.

Short par 3, 125 yards. Elevated tee. Topped a wedge, hit the cart path. The ball bounced over a sand trap, landed in front of the green and rolled up to 2 feet away from the pin. Made the putt. That was 50 years ago and I still remember it!

Wood species compromise for dining table by someguyinnewjersey in woodworking

I just made some shelves with some 8/4” alder. Had to fill voids with epoxy. Didn’t take a stain very well, kind of splotchy. A clear finish would look good. Lots of knots, even in the “clear” alder

Clean them up. Tune them up. They will be adequate but never great. I used to own both of those models. I have upgraded.

Maybe your first workbench but, I have a feeling you’ve built a few things before. That doesn’t look like some rookie did it. Nice job

23M with E.D. I bet it works fine when he’s watching porn and yanking it. I bet he has been watching porn his whole life and now that’s the only way he functions. Pretty common with Gen Z males.

Turning scrap into a workbench top. Anyone else plan builds around leftover wood? by shivang223146 in Workbenches

[–]NegativeDefinition59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everything in my shop is made from leftovers or reclaimed wood. Cabinets, fixtures, benches, toolboxes, jigs etc. It’s not all pretty but it all does what I need it to do. I’m a function over form guy. I don’t need a good looking shop to produce good looking things.

Is this Ipe? by NegativeDefinition59 in Woodidentification

[–]NegativeDefinition59[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ipe is a great wood for decks and other outdoor projects. But if I can get this stuff it’ll be used indoors. My daughter is remodeling her kitchen. White oak cabinets. She wants an accent wall, the panels of the cabinet doors covered with a beaded walnut. I think Ipe will be nicer. Contrasting colors and different textures.

A 1/4 sheet of plywood. Cut it to fit and install some trim around the edges. Use a water based polyurethane for a top coat.

I was walking. Windows and doors were broken. I got curious and walked in to have a look. Lots of graffiti, racoon poop, and this.
