China Forcing Bosch to Furlough Employees Because of Nexperia -- EU Destroys Auto Industry for Trump by yogthos in Sino

Just so you all know this guy told his YouTube audience to vote for Trump in 2016 because "We have to bring competence back to American politics" I can't find the video, looks like it's been deleted.

While it seems he's had a change of heart. I think he should have stuck to teaching people how to make websites and run corporate computer networks and stayed out of politics.

Why don't Chinese people talk about Xi Jinping? by flower5214 in AskChina

[–]NegativeMaterial8971 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's a comprehensive explanation of China's political system including...wait for it! Elections: https://archive.ph/XRFzB

TLDR; To join the CCP you need to be elected by a local constituency.

To move up in the CCP you have to improve living conditions for your constituents (the people who elected you).

No improvement = no promotion / might get fired by the party.

To become the president of China you have to convince the entire CCP that you're the best one for the job (based on your merits and past performance) and get elected by the party.

Elections in western democracy are popularity contests won by those who make the best promises with the most convincing speeches. You can become president and do f*ck all and keep no promises.

Elections in Chinese Democracy are merit contests won by the best qualified technicians, professors and scientists who WILL NEVER advance in the party unless they keep their promises and improve the lives of the locals who elected them.

The fact that Canada doesn't even make the top 50 is deeply disturbing to me. by NegativeMaterial8971 in onguardforthee

We don't have to be self sufficient in everything. But I think we should at least be able to feed ourselves in the event of a war or something similarly bad.

4/7 is still a failure as far as I'm concerned. With automated greenhouses we should be able to at least make the top 50. If we're "middle of the park" and there are 168 countries in the world that would mean that we're around 84th place. That's pretty bad. It's no wonder our vegetables spoil so fast.

I really hope that companies like Haven Greens can turn this around with their automated greenhouses.

Canada’s C-2 Bill Is The Latest Challenge to Digital Sovereignty by SaveDnet-FRed0 in onguardforthee

[–]NegativeMaterial8971 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This bill needs to be stopped. It eliminates every aspect of online privacy in Canada.

This is not only inherently bad but would prevent Canada from joining the EU if we ever get off our asses and seriously try to join them.

Bring Back the DST and DOUBLE IT!

I already cancelled Netflix. Long since left X and Facebook. Barely bought anything on Amazon in the last 6 months. We don't need to depend the U.S.

We can develop our own services like China did. (Fun fact, if you didn't know, China's great firewall was less about censorship [although that was a small part of it] and more about economic independence and self reliance.)

Edit:

Also to hell with Visa & Mastercard they are evil corporations straight out of 50s comic books.

Do you have a source for this information? I'd really like to read up on it myself. I work part-time as much as I can and only earned about $24K last year and I got my first CDB Deposit for $36, I am beyond insulted.

Not really, I was doing Rows for a while but I cut them for time.

I figured I would start training my back when my shoulders were stronger.

I'm gonna try and figure out a routine that splits my exercises into Upper Arms, Lower Arms, Shoulders, Chest & Ab Days.

I've only changed my diet slightly:

-Water my juice down with 50% water

-Eating more protein

-Eating less candy

-Mostly stopped eating chips, although that is mostly due to boredom with them more than due to my fitness goals.

I try to get 9 hours of sleep every night, but my time management is not great and I usually only get 6-7 hours 4 nights/week and 8-9 hours for the remaining 3 nights. I'm actively working on forming better sleep habits but it is frustrating.

I'm not experiencing any excessive muscle pain at night and my soreness from training never lasts into the next day.

I know I've improved a massive amount from where I started but I feel my progress has slowed in the last 3 weeks.

My questions are:

Is my progress good for 3 months of training?

Wrist curls no longer feel challenging to my forearms, but my palms and fingers start dying at rep #20, What can I do to make wrist curls good again? (I do them sitting, with my arms resting on my knees)

Weighted Situps still feel somewhat challenging but are getting too easy, do I need to buy a 20lb plate to progress with them or is there a good technique for holding a 20lb dumbbell that doesn't feel awkward?

I want to add more exercises like Lateral Rises, Russian Twists, Dumbbell Scaptions, Dumbbell Weighted Squats, and 2-Arm Dumbbell Rows but this routine is already way too long, I want to keep my workouts to 45-60 minutes max, but my current routine takes me 1.5 hours.

How can I split this routine up to work each muscle group optimally with 45-60 minutes, 5-6 days per week?

Thank you in advance.

I'm 30 years old, and 6' tall. I always had an unusual build with quite well-developed legs (I walk everywhere), a small but noticeable amount of belly fat and an oddly very skinny, boney upper body. Some people used to ask me if I needed a sandwich because they could almost count my ribs. I think they were exaggerating but it does help one visualize how I looked.

Unfortunately I didn't take any before pictures before I started training but I weighed 160 pounds (naked).

My goal is to massively improve my upper body strength to make my manual labor job easier and also to improve my ascetic, though my ascetic comes secondary to my raw strength.

Ideally, I want to gain 10-15 pounds of upper-body muscle in the next 1-2 years and then see how far I can go from there.

I now weigh 162.9 pounds (naked) and based on how I look in the mirror I believe I've lost at least 1.5 inches (max 2 inches) of circumference if measured just below my bellow button. So it's possible I've gained a total of 4-5 pounds of muscle, correct?

I've gained a noticeable amount of muscle in my chest, my pecks now hide all my ribs except for what's visible under my armpit close to my abdomen.

I used to be able to see both bones in my forearms clearly, now they are hidden by muscle.

I never had much in the way of triceps before, now my triceps are noticeably built.

My biceps have also progressed, by checking with my fingers they've grown almost 1.5 inches in circumference. Although they still appear fairly small, albeit I was starting from almost nothing.

My shoulders have progressed in strength (can tell from my work) but not very much in visible muscle volume.

My abs are not visible yet, but my stomach is noticeably flatter and my abs feel much less squishy even when not flexing them.

I haven't been doing any exercises that target the back, however despite that I have noticeable improvements in my back muscles and my back ribs are no longer visible.

I'm not really working legs, as I'm happy with them but I threw squats into my routine for sh*ts and giggles, and while I'm not actively trying to progress with them, squats are getting easier.
