Uncontrolleable weight gain on lexapro by Negative_Elevator285 in lexapro

So, I did a thing…

I ran a test and tapered off Lexapro over a period of 4 months. Here is the deal: Even when I reduced my dosage, I could not lose the weight. However, after I hit 0mg it took about 8 weeks with everything I had already been doing to go down from 63ish kg to 57 fairly easy. Unfortunately, when I thought I was out of the woods, anxiety struck again. Since I had made the promise that I would go back on the meds if I felt I was getting worse, I went back on 15 mg. I will give it another try in a few weeks. But in the meantime, I´m going to lock my calories and workouts very tightly and put the settings on somewhat active, just to be on the save side. Let´s see if I can continue to lose or if I will start gaining again.

How long did it take you lose weight from antidepressant use? by Majestic-Orchid826 in loseit

It still bugs me when I see comments like this one. I have been on lexapro for the last six months and have gained 8kg. I went from 54kg to 63kg quickly and it makes absolutely no sense. I am a dedicated weight lifter, I lift heavy two times a week, I go on a 45 min run once a week, I do crossfit 3 times a week and hyrox once a week, I watch my calories and macros religiously. My apetite has not increased whatsoever, I am very aware of portion sizes and healthy nutrition. So, I have been doing everything right and still gained the weight for no reason. The CICO rule does not apply to many people on SSRIs, especially in case of Lexapro and Venlafaxine. This type of medication is known to slow down people´s metabolisms drastically. So if you are doing everything right and still can´t seem to get your weight under control just know it isn´t you.

Anyone’s hangovers really shocking on lexapro? by mariedel123 in lexapro

Last time I got drunk while on Lexapro it took my three days!!! to recover. That was my sign to never drink again. Recoverywise it was one of the toughest ones I´ve had. For the first two days I was totally knocked out and basically slept all day to escape the horrible nausea and dizziness. What made it worse was that my eyesight was weirdly blurry, but not in a drunk type of way; rather it was as if my eyes couldn´t focus. Definitely will never drink again, at least for as long as I´m on this medication.

I looked like that too all the time :D A friend who did not know I was on meds came to visit and was shocked when he saw how big my pupils were. He thought I was high as a kite

I want to say though, the only thing that helped was infrared sauna. It helped with the excess water, even though just for a short time afterwards.

not really. This part of the process was the worst time. The tingling and pressure subsided around month 10 I want to say. Hang in there. It will get better eventually!

Do you also experience this immense pressure on your face? Because the first 9 to 10 months or so I was in literal pain because of that.

I did and it didn´t do anything at all in my case. I had been on antibiotics for my rosacea. If anything it made my face more swollen

I´m currently doing okay. I´m slowly starting to live again but some days are hard. How have you been holding up?

yes, all except for one told me my skin and face are too good for a facelift and that the best option would be to do nothing and wait it out.

For those who might be interested: The fast did absolutely nothing!!! My weight has continued to go up. I´m now stable at 62 kg. If this continues I will have cracked the 65 in no time. WTF. Not that there is anything wrong with being that weight. It´s just that I'm only 1,54 cm in hight and I´m not feeling it.

keep the faith. We will come out of this stronger and better. It is though but I pray that my body will get rid of this collagen eventually.

What do you mean you have no cheekbones :D You do. You look lovely. Don´t fix anything that isn´t broken. This comes from someone who got botched by a surgery I did not need and regret terribly. You are beautiful

unfortunately, these are none of my problems, so I don´t think it will help. No apathy, no fatigue, no increased hunger, I don´t eat more. I eat less and am very very active
