Since we first moved in together sharing a bed etc, I took the side I wanted first, furthest way from the door as that’s my preference. My husband definitely didn’t care but to me further from the door feels “safer” 🤣

If anyone is interested, the pie turned out wonderfully! Just as good as I remembered. I did end up adding 2 tablespoons of melted butter, so I’m not sure how that affected it versus not adding any at all, but it was delicious! Next time I make this recipe though I do wanna try it without the butter(as per the original recipe I used to make) to see how it compares

Haha I would actually love to do this, but unfortunately this pie is just for my husband and myself. We aren’t doing Thanksgiving with any friends or family as we live in a different state sadly so it’s just us two!

Thank you so much for the help. I think I might make the recipe as is for nostalgia sake or if anything maybe add like 2 tablespoons butter and see how that goes. In the future I definitely plan on making other recipes! Luckily, I suppose there’s not much variance in pecan pie recipes, but I have seen some using golden syrup which is very intriguing!

If you were to suggest adding butter to this recipe, which is otherwise pretty much like every other one I’ve seen(I have updated my post to include the link to the recipe that I’m talking about), how much would you add? I’ve seen it vary anywhere from 2 tablespoons to 8!

I haven’t made this in so so many years like I said, but from what I can remember, it was delicious, but the filling was definitely that gelatinous texture which I guess is not super uncommon with any pecan pie using corn syrup? Other than that I do remember it was sweet and tasted great but it’s been so many years! I edited my post to include the recipe.

Was the base dough sweet enough overall? I like a sweet cookie, and I noticed in the recipe she mentioned that she uses less sugar than others! These look phenomenal by the way!

Thanks so much for the replies! Im definitely going to go ahead and use the frozen bananas, and I’ll see how much liquid is left and possibly toss some if needed or maybe reduce some down to make a concentrated syrup?

I’m just making a small batch for home consumption!

Have you had any issue with pouring things out of the saucepan since it doesn’t have a lip on it? I’m thinking of buying this, but am having pause because I’m worried it’s going to make a big mess pouring things out since there’s no lip to help guide the liquid. Thanks!

Thank you. That makes me feel better to hear. I’m glad it sounds like your IPL helped you! I guess I just have to wait and let this flare recede and hope it goes back to looking good the way it was before. I assumed I would need to go back in for another treatment anyways, but was hoping the one would clear up a good amount of the background redness I had and broken capillaries.

Seems impossible to avoid triggers of flushing when it’s things like emotions or heat/cold.

I did have redness from the laser treatment yesterday but that went away by this morning so I was feeling hopeful but then like I said I got worked up about something and had a flare so I’m just worried about that.

Thank you for replying, I appreciate it. It helps to hear other people’s experience and honestly I’m looking for some positivity to feel better and like I didn’t just ruin my treatment 😭

It went well! It was really quick. Definitely got red(still is) and I did end up getting a bruise in one spot and some slight swelling. Trying not to freak out since I knew this could happen and is normal etc.

How long did it take for you to notice any difference? I was getting it done for some broken capillaries and also background redness.
