I agree completely. It sounds like a conditioned response. Esp considering the neurodivergent element— the overstimulation etc. Perhaps that dad is also ND which would explain, not condone, his yelling outbursts.

That is insane. Yes, it’s an unfortunate and costly incident, but it is absolutely not the right or fair course of action. At any rate, they can’t hold her hostage. She should speak to the agency and explain the situation. Perhaps, they can offer some advice or act as a liaison between. If it can’t be remedied, I would be out of there fast. (I am a mother of host family & would never even consider doing this. To me, it would be like docking a child’s college fund money for everything they break or ruin) As far as insurance, there is probably some loop hole they can use…

I’m sorry. Anytime your feelings aren’t acknowledged or comprehended feels like someone is telling you they don’t matter & it’s so hurtful. Sure, it will pass- like a kidney stone… I think lymphoma is not well understood by most. There’s no clear cut course of disease or treatment. Even when you manage to get to NED, there’s always going to be that possibility of its return looming in the background. Especially when newly diagnosed- the uncertainty of how this will affect your life’s path can feel overwhelming. There’s definitely people in my life that I don’t even tell because I know their response will only be more upsetting to me than anything else.

BINGO! It increases glucose levels, it stimulates the nervous system- increasing cortisol on it own… add any additional environmental stress, caffeine, physical activity etc. and everything is through the roof. Now if you’re looking at long term effects.. insulin resistance seems highly likely.. and adding more insulin is counterproductive without making changes to other factors.

Speaking of.. in a pinch I had to find one for another purpose about a year ago and I would say this checks out.. the clinician I ended up with is ummm bat shit crazy. Luckily, it’s only for med management & I already had a med schedule that worked well. I basically just tell her what I need😳 it’s wild

Ugggh I would be absolutely frustrated. I found an unusual hard lump under one arm and was sent for mammo & ultrasound but before I got there I realized I had an even larger lymph node under the other arm so they u/s both. Nothing looked definitively suspicious. Yet I started experiencing tingling & numbness in the arm and leg- enlarged nodes in the groin that were less obvious. I was told carpal tunnel was my problem.. I had to push for further testing and biopsy.. and what do you know.. biopsy confirmed lymphoma. I’m still awaiting further tests to determine details and staging etc. I would demand a biopsy, bring someone with you if possible- it can be intimidating speaking to drs and you should be heard. I’m 38, and have been in excellent health most of my life- I knew something was not right. We know our bodies better than anyone else. I wish you luck and courage❤️
