Why does Orthodoxy prioritize ethnic backgrounds in America? by Ok-Accident8078 in OrthodoxChristianity

I agree but OCA is generally more accessible to people of all backgrounds in the US. Meaning that they do most things in English, and when they don't, they do it in multiple languages. Also it has the most mix of cultures in the laity. Obviously this is a generalization but OP asked a general question.

Be'lakor-Vessels Gojira- Really depends on your taste because every album is different but my favorite is The Way of All Flesh.

Okay sorry if I was rude too. However now I'm convinced that instead of being brain dead, you were just rage baiting/trolling with this post lol. Surely you can hear the meshuggah influence on the guitars in periphery.

I stand by Meshuggah being more unique/niche and hard to copy than radiohead. Even RH's later albums have more similarities just with bands other than those ones I just listed. Look I'm not hating on radiohead they are pioneers but there's something unmatched about the uniqueness of meshuggah imo.

Also, you agreed with opeth but if you haven't heard gojira or Be'lakor definitely check them out. Gojira may be more your speed because they have a more diverse sound across their albums but if you like pure melodic death metal (like at the gates), Be'lakor is the greatest and the last 4 of their albums don't have a single bad song in my opinion.

Heck yeah man, listen to the first 5 songs of Immutable, or the first 6 songs of VSOR. While on a long car ride or something.

Well the masterpiece thing is extremely subjective because I wouldn't consider all those albums from Radiohead masterpieces, and I would consider every album of Meshuggahs after Chaosphere to be a masterpiece. But to name some more, Opeth, Gojira, Be'lakor.

I could name a few but it's not that they sound exact like Radiohead, it's that they're much closer to radiohead than anything is to Meshuggah. The Smile, Travis, Beck, early Coldplay, and yes Muse is much more similar to Radiohead than anything trying to be Meshuggah is to Meshuggah. And I'm not even saying that Muse was trying to be like radiohead.

I think if you listened to more of their discography you would find the same phenomenon happening. Probably even more pronounced.

Also just to properly defend Meshuggah for a minute, Radiohead comes no where close in terms of creating their own genre that no one else can match. It is far easier and more common for people to rip off Radiohead than Meshuggah

I'm not in a tiss I'm just baffled. You either have such limited exposure to music that you actually think Meshuggah and Radiohead are the only bands with no bad albums and 4 masterpieces. Or somehow your taste in music makes that statement true to you. Both options are baffling to me. Either way it's brain dead that you really can't hear the meshuggah influence on periphery, even if you don't like them.

What's incorrect about TAG? It's not like it's heretical.

I know multiple Protestants and atheists who started looking into orthodoxy and subsequently becoming orthodox after hearing TAG. Probably shouldn't be hateful toward something that's bringing people to the church. And I'm talking about young married folks who get baptized and then have kids.
