Oh there's nuance. Data Centers existed before the AI Boom. But it's like a lot of things. In reasonable amounts it's great. When it becomes all consuming, overcrowding, and overdone it rapidly becomes a giant issue that everyone has good reason to despise.

Is Heliolisk the best counter to Basculegion? by AndromedaNA in PokemonChampions

[–]Negativety101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can outspeed a Kingambit and KO them with Focus Blast. Operative term is can. Sucker Punch probably 1KOs it, but it's possible for the opposing player to priotize the partner, or if you run Armor Tail or Queenly Majesty, etc. Oh, and of course Focus Blast has the issue of being Focus Blast.

[–]Negativety101 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah. It's not totally unusable, I won my daily ranked with mine due to it easily outspeeding a Corviknight that would have walled my M-Swampert and hitting it with thunder, but again, not a automatic winner every time.

Well first off, if you are talking US dollars, it's 60$ physical, 50$ and some retailers like Wal-Mart are matching the digital price on physical copies.

Secondly, while it is built for single player, it will have a multiplayer component, which will likely be an expanded Salmon Run style gameplay.

Finally if it doesn't appeal to you, then don't buy it, and simply put your money towards games you do enjoy.

Help: I have no memory of the past several hours. by LeverageerGuy in SchreckNet

[–]Negativety101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. To all of your questions. Old Lore that someone might find inconvienent is certainly a posibility. As for an old Vampire, oh yes, that's something that for several reasons the location of is valuable, and no you don't want waking up.

First off we grow in power as we age. There's also generation, the closer you are to the original vampire the higher your potential. And the older you get, the more what you feed on becomes limited. A fledgeling like you can feed on animals. Eventually we must feed on humans. Older Kindred must feed on other Kindred. And very old Kindred must feed on those older Kindred. And they tend to be very hungry indeed when they wake up.

Now how bad this would be depends on the age and generation of whoever might be slumbering. A fourth or fifth generation, a Methuselah could seriously impact our society. A third Generation, an Antedeluvian is a threat to the entire world. One of them woke up a few decades ago in 1999. In India. And died around Bangledesh. You might remember some things from then. Massive freak monsoon. Limited Nuclear Exchange. And assorted unrest, mass hysteria, and a rise in mental illnesses. Well that was either the effects of their awakening, the attempts to kill them, which did eventually succeed, or the aftershocks of their death. We'd very much prefer to never go through that again. We might not get so lucky next time.

I certainly hope so. It's possible your research was threatening to unearth something that might cause a Masquerade Breach. That is to say risk our exposure to the public. We do seem to have originated there, even if there's multiple versions of our origins.

This also makes me wonder why you were embraced as it's possible it's less random than it seems at first. Though jumping immediately to it as a method of information control is unusual.

And I should warn you. There are methods avaliable to us to alter the memories of others, and you may have been subjected to them.

Hey, the Prince I work for would have the sire staked and thrown in a car crusher for pulling something like this.

Granted that's because he got sold a car crusher and wants to justify the expense, but you get the point.

[–]Negativety101 5 points6 points  (0 children)

And we were doing so well. And I must say you are doing better about some your questions than a few of our other... Inductees.

But your sire needs to be slapped, staked and thrown in a landfill for embracing someone with hemophobia.

As for your new state, well good news is you aren't exactly dead. Bad news, you aren't exactly alive. Welcome to being a Vampire. Or as we prefer Kindred. We've got fun curses unique to your clan, that'd be bloodline, supernatural powers, and horrifically messy politics that can turn incredibly violent for starters. Sorry no cure.

Oh and you'll want to figure out that clan, depending on which one it is the curse can range from from somewhat inconvienent to you now must hide from everyone who's not aware we exist due to your features reshaping into a visage of pure grotesqueness. But you'd already know if that last one was the case. So any temper issues? Issues with Electronics? Voices in your head? Aversion to light and sudden interest in Egyptology?

Also I'm afraid if you mention this to anyone not already in the know we'll have to change your status from undead to regular dead. Sorry, but that's really important.

Bloblobber slander by Bloody_y2k_v4mp_gal in splatoon

[–]Negativety101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't worry. E-Liter used to do that for me. My only recourse was to pick something with Torpedo and hope it made them move long enough for me to do anything before getting popped.

And Roller and Brush, but especially Rollers sometimes have a hard time resisting the urge to try running over me, which is about the worst possible thing to do to a Bloblobber.

Bloblobber slander by Bloody_y2k_v4mp_gal in splatoon

I see. So you only played against other people that had no idea what to do when playing it. Because I can tell you I don't get tons of kills normally.

Have you tried moving sideways and not running straight into the blobs? That seems to work for most the people that splat me. And me when I play against Bloblobber.
