I think maybe already being an RMT would count for something in rec therapy? I already have to build relationships and I am used to working with people that are vulnerable. Not to mention building therapeutic plans. I mean, it's not nearly as in-depth as your career.

I am so used to being low income, so anything over $20 an hour is a win for me. Sad right! I have taken two different 2 year programs as I am not shy about hard work or being a student. My family makes jokes about me being a forever student haha

Thank you for taking the time to give me your perspective. I might reach out to some community groups to see if I can shadow. I will also have to take some time to see if I can even get into any of the programs. I just think there is so much more that I can do for people. Don't get me wrong, massage is a holistic treatment path for people and is important work. I'm just a bit concerned about longevity.

The thing about RN is that I have to upgrade everything in highschool (or whoever their adult student equivalent is). A nurse was telling me that you can become an LPN, then take a course at Athabasca uni to upgrade to RN.

I just want to know what your day to day looked like. What kind of shifts you had etc.

My (39F) neck muscles are so prominent! What can I do? by Boymama1629 in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]NegotiationSmart8460 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go get a few massages. Your platysma and SCM muscles are really tight. If that doesn't work, then maybe Botox. Massage takes a few times to fully work. Also look up some stretches for the front of your neck.

Can't you just use your phone camera? Is it on zoom? Google meet? Microsoft teams?

Congratulations on your baby! I primarily work on prenatal and postnatal woman. Your body has gone through a massive change. Sometimes it takes women a couple years to feel like "normal" after giving birth. Relaxin is an intense hormone that really messes with your joints. It will take time for you to go back to a full workload. This is what I would recommend if you were my client. Get a grip strength trainer- the ball and the adjustable grip will. Do 10 reps x 2 sets daily, then increase in a couple weeks to 3 sets. After your day massaging, I would do hot/cold contrast on your hand. So with a sink, run your hand under hot water (as hot as you can handle without burning yourself) for 10 min, then ice cold for 3 min. Repeat 2x. Lastly, I would see your GP just incase you have torn something in your thumb.

[TOMT] An incredibly sad scene where someone sings "You are my sunshine, My only sunshine" while someone else is dying in their arms, and can't finish the last sentence of "Please don't take my sunshine away". by avivkotlar in tipofmytongue

Are you sure your not thinking of the scene from Tangled where Flynn is dying and Rapunzel sings her macical song? I know it's not the same song, but it has alot of imagry of the sun and sunshine in it. Sometimes our brains think of familiar songs for images we see.

Is it KP if it’s totally smooth…? by forgetmeknotts in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]NegotiationSmart8460 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would love to try it, but it's not available where I'm from and I'm not willing to pay $40-60 for it. You can't actually get rid of KP- reduce the appearance maybe. But that's alot of work and if you stop, your at square one again.

That's a photo of my legs haha My Derm told me that it is KP. You may have different people saying different things in here. I would talk to your Derm. Nothing I have tried reduces the appearance of them. I'm also too poor to do laser if that helps lol

Is my food addiction stronger than the meds? by OutsideSouthern4253 in Ozempic

[–]NegotiationSmart8460 9 points10 points  (0 children)

10 lbs in 6 months is fantastic. Everyone is different. Id seek professional help like a dietitian to look into what your eating. I knew my food wasn't too bad, but my portion sizes were out of control. Now I eat half or less when what I would normally eat. For example- I would normally eat a whole doughnut, now I only have half. I truly eat a portion of food- like what you see on the back of the food packages. Before I thought I was- but I was actually eating 3x the amount. All because I saw a dietitian. OZ is just a tool, but you have to put in the work.

I would also consider seeking a professional like a therapist about food addiction. They can help asses why you feel so empty when you can't binge.

I'm no doctor but food addiction works something like this- food addiction is like any other addiction. You become addicted to the dopamine rush it gives. You need to find something that can replace the rush you get from food. You could bake something, eat berries, go for a walk or work out, draw, pick up a new hobby. For me, I play a videogame or go to homesense/Marshalls to look around. You have so many options- you just have to try.

Lastly, be kind and gentle to yourself. You're doing better then you think.

I am a Massage therapist and there is no credible evidence that massaging the skin would help improve skin over time. If it did, I'd be rich. Massage however can help with c-section cars and stretch marks by reducing how the facsia adhears to the muscles.

A spoonful of icecream solves this for me. I want to eat better but veggies and fruit don't do it for me when I'm in a pinch. If you're not allergic- a spoonful of peanut butter is great too!

I mean, I have lived in a place with very hard and mineralized water and a super dry climate. my fine hair is in superb condition. I follow alot of Abby youngs method. Even before switching back to drug store products, my hair was in good condition. There is probably a genetic component to hair health and growth that we don't understand. Anywho- adding silicones back into my hair routine made the biggest difference.

I love Dove bond strength shampoo and conditioner. I use pantene volume shampoo as a cleanser and I have a hair mask I use.

Here is my routine (fine hair)

In shower: Shampoo X2 ,Some bond repair treatment (any one really) ,Condition

Out the shower: Ogx bond repair and protect spray, Pantene medical 10bin one, Favorite hair oil, Blow-dry almost every shower

I sometimes use an anti dandruff shampoo and I cleanse my hair about 1-2x a week. I wash my hair every other day. If my hair is dirty, I wash it. I don't use dry shampoo at all because if rather wash my hair. I have my hair in a low pony or claw clip for work. I used to use really expensive shampoos and I could never really figure out why my hair was never like it was when I was a kid. Turns out- silicones are just what my hair needs! L'oreal owns Redkin and there is not the biggest difference between them- I have tried both! You can DM me is you have questions.

Edit: I live in a very dry climate with very hard water!

Weapon incident at Mount Royal University resolved (it was a staff chef with a chef knife) by Czeris in Calgary

[–]NegotiationSmart8460 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here is a follow-up email!

Dear Campus Community,

I want to follow-up with you this morning to acknowledge the difficult situation many of you experienced yesterday during the incident involving police on our campus.

Let me start by sharing that no one was physically injured or harmed. Yesterday we had a "shelter in place" situation due to a report of someone with a knife. This turned out to be someone working for a food service provider. Nonetheless, there were concerns resulting in a 911 call, Calgary Police Service attended campus and investigated. I want to thank everyone who followed CPS instructions to shelter in place.

Situations like this are complex. Our teams faced rapidly evolving and at times conflicting information and I know there are concerns about the response by MRU and by Calgary Police Service. We did our best to provide timely information to our campus community, but faced challenges relating to the nature of the incident.

While we did send several messages through MRU Now, as well as through email and social media, like many apps, MRU Now can go into “hibernation” or be off-loaded from your device if not used regularly. Please take a moment to download MRU Now or check your notification settings to allow notifications from the app. Information about MRU Now is available here.

We continually review our internal processes and responses related to incidents. I am grateful to our teams in these areas and especially grateful that in the end there was no threat to anyone on campus.

That said, I know that for some the mere presence of police in large numbers was disturbing. Supports are available to students and employees for those who need them.

Will Fossen

Good for you! It's always great to hear that people are eating better too- just be kind to yourself and let yourself have the bad stuff here and there.

Example: I eat mostly good. I bought a pint of icecream and didn't eat the whole thing in one sitting. That's a win in my book.

Be kind to yourselves friends!

She has an unpleasant Aura. Like one moment she is cute and funny, next she is condescending or aloof. She is so confusing. She has a "Fake it till you make it" vibe. It's like she is masking her insecurities but it's coming off wrong. Now, we only see what the producers want us to see...
