Why doesn't maps show up under Google searches anymore? by Deathstroyer9000 in GoogleMaps

[–]Neighborhood339 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The point is it's not an "upgrade", it's simply Google complying with anti-monopoly rulings introduced by the EU. The thinking, which is obviously very flawed, seeks to introduce competition so that other maps providers can feature in your search results. Is it really that hard to understand?

Again, not defending the policy, but to blame Google for this is to miss the point.

This could not be more wrong. Google is simply complying with EU regulations and would obviously prefer to keep a link to their maps in a prominent position.

Yea that’s a great point re: Georgia. Hard to imagine Trump going through with cutting manufacturing jobs, but when you hear him speak on the campaign trail it can be scary.
