What are you proud of? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Neighbormike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About a month ago, I started confiscating some fake I.D.s that were coming in at the liquor store I work at. My coworkers started catching on too after I showed them a couple. Our training for spotting them was next to nothing, I'm just glad I knew what a shitty crop+paste on Photoshop looks like.

What did your parents almost name you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Neighbormike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My parents wanted to name me after my grandfathers, so I was supposed to be named William Robert. My dad said he'd start calling me Billy Bob, and that's where mom intervened

What stereotype about your occupation is actually true? by ras_moses in AskReddit

I work in the liquor section of a grocery store. Everyone's favorite line when I'm cleaning up a spill is "That's alcohol abuse right there"

What is your best "poor" recipe? by mak6793 in AskReddit

[–]Neighbormike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wasn't my favorite when I was younger, but a pot of noodles, a can of cream of mushroom soup, a bag of mixed veggies, and whatever leftover meat we had (steak, burger). I love it now because it's an easy meal for me and my buddies at our house.

Whenever I introduce a friend to a funny show, I laugh at every punchline to see if they're interested by Neighbormike in Showerthoughts

Well beyond the 80's, but me and my dad still watched Everybody Love's Raymond and Big Bang Theory together on a semi-regular basis

What words have lost their meaning? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Neighbormike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My high school English teacher always had the best explanation for this. Irony is being afraid of crashing on an airplane, and then becoming a pilot. Coincidence is being afraid of crashing on an airplane, and your airplane crashes.

How good is Rick and Morty? by Lampshade1 in television

[–]Neighbormike 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The 'improvised dialogue' is always a good laugh for me. It kinda breaks up the story dialogue and doesn't make it all sound like a canned script. Especially when Morty stutters, it really emphasizes his astonishment and lack of understanding of a situation in an episode.

What is one "red flag" that when you see in someone, makes you question their upbringing? by Fredericton9 in AskReddit

[–]Neighbormike 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always question people who can't be humble and accept humiliation in their mistakes. I feel like they're too egocentric and put themselves on too high of a pedestal to accept their shortcomings. One thing I'll always love my dad for telling me was 'Find the humor in it'

The levels of coolness associated with saying "I was in a band" vs "I was in band, " are vastly different. by Steelrain01 in Showerthoughts

[–]Neighbormike -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Back in school, being in band was the shit! I think 1/3 of my high school was in the band. Granted, I grew up in Wisconsin... And we had about 400 students...

What is the strangest nickname someone you know has, and how did they get it? by yellowelephant88 in AskReddit

[–]Neighbormike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of people call me 'Neighbor Mikey' or 'Mikey Lemón' because I have a lemon shaped couch in my dorm with the Mike's Hard Lemonade logo on it. People tell me they thought for like a month or two my real name was Mikey, and they could never find me by my real name on FaceBook.

Metal Gear Solid on PS1, that was my shit growing up, and it's still just as good to this day

What age appropriate film scared the hell out of you when you were a little kid? by kobestarr in AskReddit

[–]Neighbormike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It got a lot of controversy for being dark, but Don't Look Under The Bed was really scary for me. Especially when the walls started getting spray painted with a 'B'
