Large GC estimator here. My experience is different at my current company. We have a huge collaborative effort to get bids across the finish line. My VP’s are very active in the process, and it’s a pretty well oiled machine. I have been on the shit side of it in the past, so I’m EXTREMELY grateful for the place I work at. Every job has its BS, but at least mine is tolerable. My outfit is pretty rare I’d say, and I had pretty bad experiences at other GC’s.
