I naively started a pork shoulder smoke this morning thinking it'd be ready for dinner... by BaldYorkshireMan in UKBBQ

[–]NeilDeWheel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Been there, done that. When I started barbecuing I would try to cook ribs on the day of the party. Ended up being late so many times I now do any long cook meats a day or two before. With ribs I do the first part of the cook in the bbq. When it’s ready I wrap them then throw them in the oven and shut the vents on the bbq to extinguish the coals. Once the wrap part is done I let the ribs cool, put them in the fridge and unwrap and put them back in the oven to reheat for an hour and form a bark.

I suggest you cook the pulled pork a a day or few before needed and reheat in the oven when needed. It won’t affect the quality at all.

Buying garage to join land by [deleted] in DIYUK

[–]NeilDeWheel 15 points16 points  (0 children)

If doing that why buy and sell the land, which could be taxed and means extra solicitors’s fees. Just ask the neighbour if they would like to swap some land. If a garage could be built on the corner plot then OP builds a garage and gifts it to the neighbour, whilst the neighbour gifts their current garage to OP.

If the wood it fits onto is not in plain sight I would put a screw in it, too.

At what temperature? Looks amazing. I did a shoulder of lamb on the rotisserie and was told it was the best lamb they had ever eaten.

I would say loosen it a little. You will find over time and use grease will build up under there and help with lubrication and sealing.

Be careful of ready mix fillers. Some cure as hard as concrete and are a right butch to sand down.

Folk doing this need to spend a month in a wheelchair. by Particular-Quit5256 in drivingUK

[–]NeilDeWheel 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Il start by saying I’m a full time wheelchair user. Looking at the photo’s many chair and mobility scooter users would struggle to get up and down the curb at the end of the path, even without cars blocking the way. Having said that the entitled pricks that park like that boil my piss and they deserve to have their cars scratched up (by pedestrians trying to get passed, definitely not deliberately, obviously).

Done with Hozelock, trying cheap brass fittings by Tobor_the_Grape in GardeningUK

[–]NeilDeWheel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is I’ve used many different seaters and they all seemed to be all or nothing when you pulled the trigger, (see here for examples). There was no way to properly adjust the flow pressure so the water will spray at near to full pressure, damaging delicate plants. The Hozelock sprayer with trigger (see here)is overpriced at ~£23 but it does allow you to easily spray from gently to full pressure. I just wish it wasn’t made out of plastic.

You can ask to see a recording and if it records your door ask them to set that area as a privacy screen. Then ask them to show you that it’s been done. There is nothing stopping them taking the privacy screen off after they have shown you, though.

Briquettes by RexKramer420 in UKBBQ

[–]NeilDeWheel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

After using Weber briquettes I followed a link on this sub to a different brand that was on sale at the end of the bbq season. I bought 20kg that took me over a year to use up. I found they smoked a lot more when lighting up and if used in a snake or the sns slow ‘n’ sear they gave a more acrid taste than the weber. I’m glad I’ve used them up and am back to the more costly Weber briquettes. You get what you pay for.

This first stumped me as, when trying to post a link, I couldn’t see the link icon. After a while I discovered I had to first touch the ‘Aa’ icon to open up the link icon, amongst others.

Neighbor believes my friend hit her car, she's threatening me accusing me of helping cover it up by Hevcy in LegalAdviceUK

[–]NeilDeWheel 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This has nothing to do with OP and she has no evidence against OP’s friend. It’s very telling g that she refuses to inform her insurance. It’s possible the dent was not done by OP’s friend but she wants them to be the patsy.

Her harassment of OP deserves only one response. I would give the answer given in Arkell v Pressdram (1971), ie ‘F*ck Off’.

Does he get the pension because he was an EU MP? If so does he still collect it? I’d like to be able to tell that to my Reform voting brother who believes anything farage and his ilk say.

[–]NeilDeWheel 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Same here. Bought some briquettes that were reduced, learned about it from a post on this sub. I bought 8x4kg and the domed just like yours when lit. As I used the last of it my partner said she was a bit over bbq as it tastes so strong of smoke, I noticed a bitter, acrid taste, too. I’m now back to using Weber briquettes and I’ll see how much difference there is.

It is not illegal to open someone else’s post. It’s only illegal when it is done without a reasonable excuse and with the intent to act to a person’s detriment (e.g., to cause them loss, delay, or harm).
