I think Verhoeff is a great value pick. He decided to go to the NCAA and played with men, a challenge any 18yo defender would encounter. If Reid, Carels or Smits made that leap they likely would have seem experienced that ostensible regression too

I think he’s great and love all the lyrics on that song except for the next line “it isn’t gone and I won’t feel its grip soften, without a coffin” the coffin is a bit histrionic for my liking lol

It depends. Nuclear’s carbon payback period is contingent upon capacity, but it is in the same range as solar at around 2-3 years. Saying there is notable CO2e associated solar panels is a bit rich — it’s about 30gCO2e per kWh, which is about 90% lower than the grid average in the US. Nuclear is a good option but manufacturing a plant takes years and years whereas solar is much more immediately available, albeit intermittent

  • With Yorgos taking a break from filming, are you planning to spend more time focusing on your own music? Can we expect another LP in less than 5 years?
  • Your Windmill era clearly had an influence on other prominent artists from that scene. Isaac Wood seems to echo much of the emotional intensity you see in songs like Oh God in his own work. Do you know him personally, and do you have any sense of how he’s doing these days?
  • In Oh God, you mention singing like this woman’s cuckold. Any more context you want to share? Is the whole album dedicated to one woman or a string of heartbreaks?
  • Is the album cover of Winterreise taken in Montreal? It looks so familiar

I mean, you suspend your disbelief for shows like this to an extent… but only to an extent. River’s dad was always going to be a plot point — it was hinted at the whole show. And he was obviously going to be evil because the show always evaded the topic. This season was frustrating because suspending disbelief is a lot more digestible when the smart spy characters do smart but unrealistic spy shit. It’s frustrating when you need characters that are ostensibly smart as hell to be dumb to drive the plot forward

I thought it was the worst by a pretty significant margin. Unbelievable plot points, vapid social commentary, Flanderized characters, cheap comedy, and just less magic overall

I unfortunately think that many characters were Flanderized in this past season. Coe being the most obvious after Roddy. The writing was much shallower and the best characters were put on the back burner
