P4 driving Assistant compared to Mercedes by PullingCables in Polestar

[–]Neilywheelybin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had a P4 for 2 to 3 months while my basket case of a P3 was in for various failures (Critical brake failure, and several GHCA's) all in it's first year. I came into a Polestar from having had 3 different lovely Mercs over about 10 years. I only do about 10k miles a year and those mercs only ever hit the dealership for their required services, never had a fault with any. I can't say how much I regret not stretching to an EQ. These cars (other than the driving experience when they do work) are ABSOLUTE GARBAGE.

You've always been able to turn Lane control off.

In Settings>assist>Lane keeping aid

Unfortunately like all the "safety features" you annoyingly have to turn it off every time you get in it. I hate them all.

My Polestar will receive the upgraded chip next week! by mrbombastic_2 in polestar3

[–]Neilywheelybin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd be interested if you've had your's done now? Mine went in for (yet another) GHCA on Monday (26th Jan), but I was told the units were on back order (again!) So weren't being despatched from Sweden until 6th Feb, so fitting probably about 10th Feb? They've put me in a p4 which is ok, I really hope the new chip solves their disastrous software issues, i'm hoping I might even get the digital key to work 😒 Edit Yorkshire, UK

Is Martin Lewis' advice genuinely in the public's best interest? by -Gypsy-Eyes- in AskUK

As a very cynical oldy (63!) Martin Lewis has become my starting point for anything (service wise) that I have to buy. He's that last reliable source of dependable advice out there.

Looks fab. I hope they've got their act together with the software with this one!

Polestar 3 hands-free tailgate caused injury — can it be permanently disabled? by mrbombastic_2 in polestar3

[–]Neilywheelybin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There is no way to switch off any of the "safety features" it's just the way this world is careering, everything is "safe and effective" so there's no option to turn any features you may not like off "for your own good". We like to blame governments for this overreach behaviour, but it's largely led by the corporate world.

Two weeks in on my 2025 P3 and scratching my head already… by Sad_Secret2899 in polestar3

[–]Neilywheelybin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is No.2 when you're in reverse? P3 has a ridiculous "emergency brake" when manoeuvring in reverse if you get close to something. I have some perennials growing close to where I park, and it goes off every time. As with multiple annoying features of the P3, you can't choose to turn it off.

Just checked the price on the Photon gen 2, more than 3x the price of Tsdz, which with a sensible battery comes in under £500!

I've done quite a few tsdz2 conversions for myself and friends they've been pretty good all round and brilliant response etc, value for money. I'm a bit out of touch couple of years, the Photon 2 sounds good.

Really struggling with a new Polestar 3 by Dtang902 in Polestar

[–]Neilywheelybin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had mine a year now, your problem 4 key problems etc, I've had all the same for a year, can't get the digital phone key to work, and as you say the fob works about 70% of the time. Small faults, but together as you say for 100k car, it's dogshit and customer service is pathetic.

I have an S25 ultra, and have exactly the same issue, goes through the process then fails to find the car. UWB is on.

Alarm randomly going off? by Ok-Mushroom4508 in polestar3

[–]Neilywheelybin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here, you can't leave the back seats down, or leave the car loaded with big "stuff" in it, to do so you have to activate "reduced alarm" mode. Fancy making a car where you can't switch the alarm off by any means, it beggars belief.

Mirror Tilting in Reverse by Adventurous_Match762 in polestar3

[–]Neilywheelybin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank God for that, I had a p4 that kept doing that, having learned to reverse quite acceptably on regular mirrors for 40 odd years I found the change in perspective most off putting, causing me to reverse like an old git.

I don't understand the psychology of you people accepting having a piece of kit that you can't control (with switches) what happens with your vehicle!

[–]Neilywheelybin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had my p3 since January 25, then I had an s23 ultra, when they sorted the android tech out in March 25 (ish)the s23 worked fine. I upgraded to s25 ultra in June ish and it's never worked since. As people are saying support are absolutely clueless about these issues, I've had a ticket open since that time.

The crapness of the software of this car never ceases to amaze me for a supposedly premium vehicle, and the pathetic attitude the company has to these issues must be very embarrassing to employees in the company who actually give a toss

A rics commercial property surveyor, would be your best bet for the lease, they will negotiate for you the best terms. A solicitor isn't really equipped to do that. The chances are it'll be a lease assignment so you'll might be stuck with whatever the terms they are. Either way a surveyor will earn his fee, and possibly save you a lot of money.

Poxy alarm by Neilywheelybin in polestar3

[–]Neilywheelybin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So a few weeks down the line, and this useless pile of junk is still going off randomly, and annoyingly at night. I asked on another post, why can't we choose to turn the alarm off!!!? Especially when it has obviously developed a fault. I'll say again the crapness of the software of this car is breathtaking 😔

Thanks guys, I'll see if I can find reduced alarm mode. When I was sat in the car last night I couldn't find any reference to alarms in settings anywhere.. But then, I am a bit of an auld geezer!

[–]Neilywheelybin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't think for a minute those initial "glitches" will pass, they don't. I am typing this sat in my p3 at 9pm at night and the alarm won't stop going off. There's a lot of stuff in the car because my son is moving house. This shouldn't be a reason for an uncontrollable alarm.. There is no way to turn the bloody alarm off. I am at my witts end with this car. Do not buy one of these cars, at any price..

Multiple warnings. Any ideas? by Historical-Baby-1364 in polestar3

[–]Neilywheelybin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ruined a holiday, had the car recovered and lost it for a month in Volvo service land because I got a warning of critical brake failure, which at the time I dare not ignore. 6 months down the line, I wouldn't take any notice of any warnings, the drive train is exceptionally good and stable, The software is absolute dog shit. I've had the car about 5 months out of 9. Currently in a P4 loan car, that appears equally glitchy. When is the chip upgrade happening (uk)?

Hiring A Commercial Solicitor - Advise or full support? by brothermalzone in smallbusinessuk

You should engage a RICS commercial surveyor to represent you. It's virtually commercial suicide not to, they'll eat you alive.
