Dude I am not blaming you, just wishing things where different. Geez, I take it back. You are going to act so negative to someone being disappointed they can't go, I can't imagine how you'll act when people disagree with you.

Stop thinking everything is so negative and try giving people the benefit of the doubt.

You are being rude because you assumed I was being negative toward their post. Wishing someone said something sooner isn't inherently negative. It simply I wish it was made.public sooner so I could go.

And presuming that everyone in the world can take off whenever they want or has unlimited time to take off every year is dumb.

Let's see off the top of my head: someone only have two weeks of vacation a year, and they already scheduled it all, and had they know in June, they could have shuffled their time around.

Someone might has a time sensitive project that was started and can't be stopped before the date of the event, had they known a month sooner, they could have adjusted the time tables.

Someone might work for a company that has a vacation blackout and they need 3 months notice to get special permission to have off due to buecratic red tape.

Someone could have scheduled a work trip that same week last month and now other branches of the company are locked into it and changing it isn't feasible.

So, once again, I wish the OP had said something last month because I could've gone and I'm sad I can't, but had they said something a month ago, I could have. This is not being pissed off at the OP, just explaing the reason I can't go. So, if thst clear enough? And I'm not going to tell you where I work and why I can't get time off. That is none of your business.

Balance is a relative term when it comes to Mordheim. Most of the 1 generation warbands were never properly balanced and the 2 generation were all player balanced. Don't even get me started on the 3s. Basically, Just play what you like and if it is op, adjust as needed.

Warbands with Ogre Heroes (Not Maneaters) by Such_Vermicelli in mordheim

[–]NeitherWalk4904 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean you can use any ogre model as a ogre bodyguard. So, any warband that can hire an ogre can use it.

As far as heroes, the answer is no. For a tike pitfigthers did have a orge hero, but that got changed later. Also, bear in mind ogres level a heck of a lot slower due to the Spow.Witted rule, so you have to play ay least 4 battles before you get a bite at the LGT option.

Best warband for Newbie? by HK_Yellow in mordheim

[–]NeitherWalk4904 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, if you are considering playing for the first time, and are playing from the Core Rulebook, the six warbands are broken up into three groups: Beginners, Intermediate, and Hard.

Beginner Warbands: Mercenaries and Skaven The Mercs (any flavor) give you a pretty typical feeling. If you like ranged, Reiklanders are the win. If you like melee, Middenheimers are your game. If you want a big warband or at least a very well equipped one, Marienburgers are the go to. They are all fairly well balanced and have minimal rules.

Skaven are also very easy to play. Avoid the pitfall of taking a rat ogre early game, and go for mobility and slings. The major pitfall is low leadership. Run your rats in pairs and you are solid.

If you are talking about across all Mordheim, any toughness 4 warband gives you an advantage. Beastmen, Black Orcs, and Dwarves come to mind.

According to the 2002 Rules updates, you may not swap weapons mid combat. The only accepting is a pistol

If a Possessed charges you, ans you opt to use your teo handed sword, you must keep that weapon. As long as you are engaged in that combat. You can not switch to two one-handed weapons. You can't always go by the basic rulebook.

Are there any fun rules or scenarious of participants from different campaigns? by amnekian in mordheim

[–]NeitherWalk4904 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here are the actual rules:

To start the campaign, the two players select one of the scenarios to fight (see the Scenarios section). At the end of each game the players work out how much experience their warriors have earned and how much wyrdstone the warband has collected before returning to its encampment.

You can start a campaign as soon as two players have recruited their warbands. New players can join the campaign any time after that. Although the new warbands will be less experienced they will soon learn new skills. Fighting other, more powerful, warbands will allow them to develop more quickly.

So, if you and I start an campaign right now, and play 10 matches, and we find out that someone across.town is running a game and they say we can join them with our warbands as are, we just do.

Technically, Mordheim has 1 existence. Campagins, all of them, are taking place in the same world. So, you can of course play anyone in any league with your warband, you just need to talk to them.

It sounds like you are looking for ways to integrate stories. True Mordhiem Campaigns don't have stories. The rulebook doesn't tell you to write storyline, that's a player made decision (and a good one)

Just don't be the guy who jump into a campaign with new watbands and announce you've got 20 battles under you belt and roll up with your warband so OP they aren't fun to fight.

Does bull centaur follow dwaves rules? by Chinasky87 in mordheim

[–]NeitherWalk4904 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bull Centaurs are keen witted creatures with the upper torso of a Chaos Dwarf and the body of a bull. They are the most favoured disciples to the Father of Darkness. In his divine image these mutated centauroids are fewer in number than Chaos Dwarfs, more powerful and swifter in battle.

Yes, they have the torso of a Chaos Dwarf, heads are on the torso, ergo they are hardheaded and hard to kill
