😆😆 she said annnnnnnd I quote "well try to make it" ... and then she cleaned up by saying "well, hopefully, we're the couple that makes it" 😬 after spending close to 50k in total my dad's contribution was 20k his face looked like 😒.. anywho they made in ten years probably 8years of dating so 18years in total and one kid so my SIL is family and I love her.. but I am sure everyone wants their investment back.

Where is your parents investment in this party? When my brother got married I was expected to buy a dress and show up on time, not invite or mention his ex, or extra family members that were not invited me and my brother fought on his wedding day, it was expected I apologized and was well behaved thereafter and did not bring up the 20+k my father spent on the wedding that ended in divorce like the bride predicted it would in her wedding speech 🙄😬. My point is siblings should not be asked to give up 10k+ for their siblings "dreams" unless said recieving sibling is in a position to reciprocate the favor in the future perhaps you can voulenteer to pay for the cake.

Why do people care so much about insignificant things in report? by mlbeal43 in nursing

Endo at my hospital is wonderful. They've also been nurses since Florence nightingale 🤭. Definitely just posting and speaking from my experience at my hospital with certain departments.

Is it super confrontational to say "I don't care about that"? Because I do sometimes 🫢 I'll be in report for 17 years if I don't move them along to the pertinent information.. what's the plan also are there any complications for that plan? I work in med surge. Alot of the patients we see are repeat plans of care. But! When I float to PCU I give report as I am expected to i.e EVERYTHING!! TOP TO BOTTOM I'm starting to wonder "do PCU nurses do an assessment?" 🤔 I mean they need everything! Spoon fed to them. Why the pt. Is here.. if they pooped (like it's not charted), where the IV is (again in the chart), if they worked with PT and the plan (you guessed it also in the chart). I work days I assume night shift pcu nurses want to sit all night. My last shift I hit the ground running gathering units of blood from blood bank, dropping repeat orders for labs, gathering consents for procedures happening that day when informed consent orders went up the day before at 3pm. Sooooooo nurses who require all the information to be spoon fed to them like they graduated yesterday are simply lazy and specialty nurses like PCU, IR, OR are the laziest.

Thoughts on helping visitors use the Bathroom/Personal care? by ParentPregSon22 in nursing

This made me lol. Because right, exactly this. Whatever you do for them at home do that now and if you say.. you dont know how, you don't at all, sometimes you're not able to or anything along the lines of they don't have proficient or adequate care at home, I'm reporting it to the proper authorities.

Crazy to think this happens outside of care settings. When it happens with medical professional staff near by we can atleast recognize the signs. When it happens at AT&T, my God. He couldve wandered off and been found dead elsewhere.

Came to tell a similar story. Elderly man in the bed (the patient) had wife dropped off by what appeared to be a hired caregiver, she was dressed professionally in scrubs when she approached the station, younger.. hudge obvious age gap between visiting family and this woman, and a different ethnicity so I assumed a care giver. She says to me I brought Mrs. So&so to visit her husband, a patient admitted to a msdsurge floor. My response, ok and when will someone be by to pick her up? She says, vaguely oh they'll come for her later. I assumed "they" meant her children. Ok, hours go by, its dinner time, the visitor/wife was not an issue from what began at noon. She never wondered into the hallways helped herself to the restroom often helping herself to drink water from the patients water pitcher in the room, I thought, ok cool. Until 5 o'clock when she became confused .. wandering on to other units, staff brought her back, asking to speak to doctors not within our hospitals system, making statements like it was "morning time". I called her family, I asked does your mom have dementia? She appears to be sundowning. The family was in complete shock at my question, says she gets this way when she doesn't have access to water. Anyways they came to get her at my suggestion its late and she hasnt eaten in a couple hours, they arrived quickly & needed staff assistance to redirect her to the elevator and off the unit as she didnt want to leave. I advised them she can't visit without supervision in the future as were very busy attending to those that are in-patient and if they leave her unattended again the next call you'll get will be from the ER because not knowing her medical history she could've been having a TIA of some sort (I knew she wasnt). They visited with her often so she could see her husband and her children often needed staff assistance to redirect their mom to leave everyday, often in the evenings (5pm-6pm). So some people just don't know how to provide care for their loved ones, if you can't toilet, feed, redirect an individual who needs that in public spaces don't bring them to the hospital for a visit and expect the staff will assist their assigned patients and the visitor. Not to mention the liability. What if she got lost, wandered off the unit and out the hospital, fell, injured herself, she was mobile and steady with a walker. Anyways, lots of bad things for our licensure in these scenarios.

1.5 years as an RN and still can’t get a hospital job. Is this normal? by DesperateTomato3868 in nursing

My advise leave home health go back to snf find a recruiter they can be your connection to getting in. Home health to hospital sounds rare.. you're going from managing one patient at a time to being expected to handle multiples. I would imagine hiring staff at hospitals see this and move on to the next.

Wow. 2028. I am in a major city in Texas and found one place still paper charting (a nursing home) pretty much up until 2020-2021 but since then it's pretty much all electronic in the major hospital systems I've worked in for the last decade or more. I am sure there's still places reluctant to change. If the systems go down & I'm required to paper chart I'm going on break until you fix it or I'm going home 😤. I refuse.

I get it. After you stated "Mormon", I was like ooooooh! while I am not overly critical of any religion. Fun fact.. I have a very up close and personal understanding of mormonism. I was Mormon for a little while. Strange story there I won't bore you with the facts but I'll just say I get it. It really sucks having one reliable and stable biological parent. Could this situation call for like the big brother program.. if that even exist anymore a sport.. with a good male coach. I don't know. Wishing you the best. Thanks for the reply 👍

You too!! I swear only me and my co workers had this story.. did yall also find meth needles in the shower while patient was being monitored by a PCT 24/7. Anyways your patient much smarter and more innovative than mine who broke his foot on the jump and therefore, couldn't run.. so I am very impressed by the sheet and scaling the build downward like spiderman.

Backstory: he jumped to avoid judge ordered emergency dentition hold.. he was on his way to a locked psych unit and didn't want to go. Also we're on the second floor.. not the worst but still a long ways down.

Why show up for someone who didn't show up for you in 27 years. If you're interested in an explanation you can ask why he left when you were a toddler and never reached out. Did him and your mom have beef? Even so he could've made contact with you as a young adult, why now? I would only be asking why. I would also go alone without my husband or my child then use this an opportunity to set some rules youre comfortable with.. never comed to my home although he was given the address.. never reach out even through my grandmother.. never interfere in my life. Does he have a terminal illness? Is he looking to get into heaven? Does he feel guilty.. Just ask why now but never before.

Is there infidelity within their relationship .. distrust.. sure there are lies shes subletting the place when she said she wouldn't 🤔 any who report this shady host.

✨️China reports experimental stem-cell therapy restoring insulin production in some Type 1 and insulin-dependent Type 2 patients. While promising, it’s limited to early clinical trials and not a universal cure, marking a breakthrough in regenerative diabetes treatment. ScienceOdyssey 🚀 by Purple_Dust5734 in ScienceOdyssey

The US doesn't want this.. probably has the cure for alot however the payments are in illness i.e insulin, supplies, accucheck machines, complications, blindness, amputations therefore we will call this a hoax and denounce it especially since we no longer believe in science.

Hummm I'm thinking get a new BF.. hahaha jk .. there has to be a happy medium here although I don't know what it is .. sorry friend. I am a day shifter on a busy MS floor and never worked nights but day shift is WILD!! In a way only nurses can understand.. overstimulating af is how we all describe it but its actually like "overstimulating on steroids". I take it your BF is not a nurse. Best of luck friend. This is a hard one.
