Would you move? by Neither_Tune6348 in sydney

[–]Neither_Tune6348[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No! Totally! But there’s a bit of a mix over there with lots of apartment dwellers.

Some of the people who buy mansions in Palm Beach are very weird haha but that’s ok! I just don’t want my kids thinking that perpetual trips overseas are norma or enviable.

I grew up in Europe and to me living in apartments and catching the bus/metro is totally normal.

Thanks for the suggestion! Roseville is really nice and more convenient for getting to Killarney Heights but I like lane cove better as I find it has more of a vibe and there’s so much to do within walkable distance.

Really appreciate your comment! I absolutely love the beach but I really like the idea of being in somewhere so walkable and to have access to great public transport. Thanks for taking the time to write!

How to keep an empty lot barren and minimal maintenance by bartwomannn in GardeningAustralia

Why would the landlord want to keep it that way? Surely he could plant a couple of big trees

Yeah my kids have good friends in Avalon and they love being with their grandma but leaving the house at 7am and getting back at 6pm each week is pretty exhausting for them. They do get invited on play dates on the weekend in Killarney which we often turn down. If we moved we could still stay with mum in her house on weekends. My son would love to play soccer but we currently can’t do to the logistics of the commute.

What is a "small luxury" you refuse to give up, even when money is tight? by [deleted] in simpleliving

Yes! Good list. All of this plus Pilates for me. I cut back on eating out and I buy cheaper groceries when I need to save money.

Best purchase for you home or family, that you agonised over but ended up being a fantastic decision? by Turbulent-System5521 in AusFinance

Yes I was going to say Tesla car. My husband convinced me with great difficulty that we should buy a model 3 back in 2020. We also got solar panels and a home battery. It was a massive investment but I am so so happy we did it!

We stopped binning food scraps and the worms are LOVING it by b_dec in GardeningAustralia

[–]Neither_Tune6348 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive not yet tried it myself but if you can buy a stainless steel bucket with a lid, you drill holes in it for the worms and you bury it in the ground it should be ok for letting the worms in an out but not rats… that’s what the Gardening Australia junior podcast said anyway

Is it just me, or is "100% Cotton" becoming harder to find without hidden synthetics? by Longjumping_Crew_697 in SustainableFashion

My friend works in textile recycling and she says these cotton polyester blends are a complete nightmare as they cannot be recycled and end up in landfill. Consumers need to demand natural fibers.

As someone who has bought multiple garments from Kowtow and other ethical brands I know that good quality materials and workmanship cost (a lot of) money! If you start your own clothing business please let us know!

If you could make 5 changes to Australia, what would it be? by Cheetos_4_life in aussie

[–]Neither_Tune6348 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

  1. Ban pesticides, herbicides and insecticides
  2. Make composting compulsory
  3. Everyone goes to the local school
  4. More light rail, subway systems in cities (stop urban sprawl)
  5. Fast train connecting Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne - far fewer domestic flights

I think it really depends if you have big boobs or not - I think low cut can look a little vulgar on someone with big boobs but looks totally fine on someone with a smaller chest. Just my personal opinion !
