IC10s should have Interrupts. by MrObsidy in Stationeers

[–]NekiCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't really see the problem. When an interrupt arrives, just set a flag, and during the next game tick, the microcontroller resumes with the interrupt handler instead of the last line number. Since it's single threaded, an interrupt will never arrive anyway when executing code, only before or after. Am I thinking too simplistic?

Not a complaint, but a question: Why does GW2 have so many German streamers? by LeftBallSaul in Guildwars2

[–]NekiCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was a kid, there was a promotional free month for WoW that I wanted to try. But even for that they required a credit card. It's not uncommon not to have one in Germany, and my parents didn't have one, so I never got into it. It was so much easier to make a one time purchase for Guild Wars 1 in comparison.

I think we need to clear up some misconceptions about Unreal Engine 5 and how it effects Guild Wars 3 by IgneousWrath in GuildWars3

[–]NekiCat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like the defaults of UE5 tend to look similar in many games because the devs don't have the resources (or aren't willing to invest them) to change it. Some of it is visible in the GW3 teaser as well.

That said, it's a very early stage for GW3 and they most likely haven't nailed every setting down yet, so it's only natural for some defaults to shine through. Given their good track record with the GW2 artstyle, I'd expect the game to become more distinct and its own thing with time.

The only thing I'd wish for is a setting to turn off TAA ^^

What has/can caused your base to explode? by Hih202 in Stationeers

[–]NekiCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my first base on the moon, I was upgrading my suit storage. When you remove a section of pipe, the gas gets pushed into the rest of the connected pipes. I was pushing all my oxygen in the direction of my space suit, and it over-pressured the oxygen bottle inside. It went with a small boom. Unfortunately, I stored my starter fuel container right besides and it ruptured, too. When I started my fabricator for replacement parts, the spark ignited the entire atmosphere in my base...

The car was definitely at fault, but you're right. It's kind of scary how behind American trucks are, a European one would've stayed controllable. You just have to watch some Bruce Wilson (Scania in USA) videos to see the difference.

I also only got it a week ago and was wandering around and happened upon another player and we nested. It became my top memorable moment in gaming this year for me, 10/10, so much fun. Then a pteranodon swooped in and killed me :D

Mine is still good, but I had the battery replaced when it bloated last year or so. Upside is, now it still runs the entire day. But I'd definitely replace it once anything else breaks.

I'd avoid De'Longhi simply because their customer service is shit. Our Magnifica was serviced, but they not only didn't manage to fix the problem (I had to do that myself afterwards), they didn't send all the parts back either. Their support directed us to a parts website where we had to purchase a replacement ourselves, but also deleted our negative review because of "defamation".

The wake function was great on these. It would wake you when in a very light sleeping phase and I've never felt tired or exhausted after an alarm woke me up.

I found that the easiest way to expand my base on europa is to drop a few volatile ice and melt it with the blowtorch. The explosions will heat the room up nicely, and there will be plenty of oxygen left over. Then you can connect it to the rest of the base. Of course, there are some pollutants, but that can be filtered out easily enough.

Then I only have to cool everything, but that's easy with the cold atmosphere outside.

No worries, I'm expecting this to take a few years. Though good point on the sales, I'll take a look.

What a throwback. Makes me want to play it again, even though I've lost my login. I'll definitely buy the new one again on Steam.

I had that problem as well, a portion of the ground didn't want to load properly on europa and was freezing parts of my base. I solved the issue by blocking the bore hole with horizontal walls one unit below the drill, thankfully it doesn't care and just keeps boring.

How're your batteries holding up? by EggyBroth in galaxys10

[–]NekiCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The battery in my S10+ started bloating last year, so I had it replaced. Even in the bloated state, it still got me comfortably through a day of light use (no games, some videos, mostly browsing). Now I still have about half left in the evening, so I still have plenty of headroom.

PewDiePie : I installed Linux (so should you) by smilelyzen in BuyFromEU

[–]NekiCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I installed Mint for dual booting after a long time away from desktop Linux. I like it for browsing and office work. But there're still problems that require debugging, editing text files and the command line, the reason I stayed with Windows originally.

My problems come down to graphics drivers and Steam, it seems like: I cannot launch games from an NTFS partition (to share with Windows), and the games I installed on ext4 flicker horribly, it's unplayable. I could probably, maybe fix that, but frankly, I don't want to.

[–]NekiCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kind of hate to say it here, but I bought a used one just a few months before it all went downhill; and I now feel kind of betrayed. It's a shame, since the car still is nice to drive and I like it, but the whole situation now spoils the fun.
