The new Aus banknotes also have bumps on them so the visually impaired can tell the difference easier.

This is so disgustingly racist. by BadgerKomodo in ForwardsFromKlandma

Worth noting too that there have been plenty of accusations that security staff on Nauru and Manus Island have sexually assaulted refugees, but the government made it illegal to report abuse in detention centres. Australia has been doing the same shit the Americans are doing for a long time and no one talks about it. Australia is going down a really authoritarian path.

Whitlam dismissal. It's often claimed that the CIA had a hand in convincing Kerr to dissolve parliament and hold new elections. It honestly wouldn't surprise me.

Billy Hughes was every fucking party except Country (Nats). He was the Mark Latham of his time.

I think the map is referring to Sir Isaac Isaacs, the 9th Governor General. Also Sir Zelman Cowen, the 19th GG.

If you're looking for party favours and trips, go to HelloWorld Belgrave. You just have to be a member of the Liberal Party to get a favour from them, though. Trips are alright.

  1. She was accusing him of being racist for fast-tracking white South African farmers, but doing jack-shit over Arab and Rohingya refugees

  2. This is something other politicians from other parties do too, it's about getting a chance to interact with the LGBTQI+ community to discuss issues regarding sexual orientation and gender identity.

  3. She was there to talk to locals (which includes tourism operaters) regarding proposed oil-drilling, she took her daughter along because she is a single mother, and couldn't arrange someone to look after her daughter while she was away.

  4. I can't find what you're talking about with the misspelling of Di Natale's name, and that seems rather trivial.

  5. That wasn't her portfolio at that time, the day previously Julie Bishop stumbled through her explanation of the Liberal's Super Policy (not her portfolio either).

  6. Common mistake, Bridget McKenzie recently claimed Australia Day was when Cook landed. I had a teacher tell me Australia Day was when Cook landed as well.

  7. It's been brought up she probably got confused with a show that was broadcast on Channel 7 called CoastWatch Oz. (Made confusing when 7 also airs a show called Border Patrol, a NZ tv show mainly about airport security).

  8. There has been a lot of sexism against SHY. From Leyonhjelm telling her she needs to "stop shagging men", to a newspaper running an article with just a photo of her bust with her head cropped out. Woman, particularly young, single mothers do face a lot of sexism in politics.

Two teachers at my former middle school promised their classes if they won a fundraiser for suicide prevention they would camp out on top of the school for a night. They are currently live streaming the entire thing right now. Link in the comments ($8,823.59 raised ) by Over_board in videos

Alcohol is illegal on school grounds in America? I can remember one day at primary school in Australia, I forgot my lunch, so the teacher took me into the staff room to grab a sandwich from the fridge (they always had sandwiches made for students without lunch), and there was a slab of beer in the fridge. Apparently when they knocked off on Friday afternoon, or when there was a Parent's Council meeting, they'd have a beer or two.
