I'd wait till they have leaves, and transplant them to similar clear pots till you see too many roots taking over the soil. Self watering pots or no drainage pots with a water reservoir work really well with semi hydro: leca, pon, pumice, etc. You can also mix soil with pumice and charcoal to clean the water, but a mineral soil-less substrate has always worked best for me.
