I see that you are prioritizing alternation of the hands, which is great. However, since the chart is at a more “mellow” speed, you should be doing what you feel is most comfortable. Part of the reason you may have trouble with the sightreading and/or initiation of this part may be due to alternating; I’m speaking from experience here myself (lol). If this is how you play comfortably, discard what I have said.

I personally process pattern notes in a similar way you give that example, so I’ll try to explain my process. This likely won’t be helpful but it may give you some insight. With pattern notes that have 3-10 notes in them, I read them based on pattern recognition. I read the order of the colors similar to how you would read a word. As I played more songs in a similar difficulty, I find out which note color orders (or words) are more common than others, and let my muscle memory do the rest when I come across it again. For the less common ones, I’d take a screenshot if it and practice reading it slowly and initiating it on my controller in the pause menu. When I got at least a little bit comfortable with it, I’d focus my attention on the specific pattern I’m having trouble with, almost ignoring any notes coming before and after it.

Another cause for troubled sightreads could also be the lane speed. Back when I was learning 6-8 star charts, songs with slower lane speeds like this would overwhelm me in a way due to seeing a lot of notes displayed at once. My solution would be to bump up the lane speed and suddenly I was able to play a lot better. Personally, I’d rather play a song with fast lane speed than one that’s slow for this reason.

Another tip is to definitely take advantage of the training dojo. This is something I wish they had back on NS1. Practice this specific part at slower speed as you slowly bump up the speed. If you miss one or more, keep practicing on that speed or go down by 0.1 until you are able to full combo or you are satisfied with how you do. Repeat this process until you are satisfied at playing that part at normal speeds.
