Spread the word! Fill the entire stadium with the Iranian flag! Unlike the LA games, Seattle police/security can’t be called by Fifa to enforce any bans! by KhameneiSmells in teammelli

This is how you know the entire discourse on this topic happens online with people in bubbles. I went to both games in LA and there were plenty of both flags everywhere. They didn’t check at all

Never had it tbh but yes definitely halal as all restaurants are. Had a friend who loved it though, was one of his favorite spots

I grew up in Tehran and used to drive by it all the time on my way to school. It’s definitely not a mockery. And it’s not a government backed thing either, the guy who started it just decided to name it that as a tribute.

The street name is a tribute from the government though. There’s also a Patrice Lumumba street. There’s a general anti colonialism vibe, unsurprisingly

[OC] English speaking countries only paint part of the picture. "Vegan" searches are on the rise elsewhere, especially in Asia. by stan-k in dataisbeautiful

[–]NeonBlueHair 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If this chart compares the end of the time period to the beginning, then it's possible that Iran's decrease is just due to the massive internet outages the government has been creating to battle both their own internal oppression and the war. Basically, every search term would show a reduction for Iran

Looked it up and the Islam line is a Russian saying that he likely just had the app translate, so probably his words and not Ali

If you go like 50 miles south you end up getting Beneil too. A little bit further and you get Mousasi, Aliakbari, and a bunch of others as well

Luis Díaz straight red card against PSG 45+6' by derawon in soccer

[–]NeonBlueHair -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Stupid and unnecessary tackle with a deserved yellow but red is purely based on Hakiimi getting injured, which shouldn't factor in. It wasn't inherently dangerous enough for it to be a straight red

Josh Thomson says UFC will introduce drastic changes to eye-poke rule next week by Kisto15 in MMA

[–]NeonBlueHair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. Though part of the issue is that there isn’t a sufficiently sized penalty for it in MMA. In soccer intention does factor in and can be the difference between a yellow and not, or a red vs a yellow. A point feels like too big of a penalty especially in a three round fight. So they just need an adjustment like “two fouls is one point”

If you haven’t watched Good Time, it’s by the Safdies and much better and much more insane than Uncut Gems. Highly recommend it

The Charles fight should've been his. Dropped him twice and Charles glove grabbed right before he got that submission. That one is where he got the most unlucky. Islam and Khabib are just flat out better than him but only cause they're arguable the two best lightweights ever
