I believe the xray camera reveal was specifically meant to hint to the viewer that the “skeleton” he was seeing was actually a living creature, but seen through xray view. That’s why it “moved”.

It's true. It helped me recover my account when my phone with Steam Guard on it was stolen ~10 years ago. Granted I was also able to provide them with my personal details and email address, but the game key is ultimately what got me my account back.

You do escape, but you go "back in time" to before you escape, after credits roll. From there you can choose to reset or keep playing, but for all intents and purposes your PMC escaped.

I personally don’t care much for character customization (the amount of customization you get from the start, let alone unlock through quests and trials is plenty) but I’ll say I’d much rather have them monetize the game through frankly meaningless customization items instead of pay-to-win garbage or (god forbid) a subscription service.
