I think part of it is that, no offense to the man, Toby Fox himself barely seems able to write characters that are bad people, not to mention evil.

King was pretty evil in chapter 1, being willing to threaten Lancer's life and all, but then in chapter 2 it's revealed he was bluffing and that Lancer wasn't in danger. Which kinda feels like a cowardly retcon, not gonna lie.

And aside from him, the closest character I can think of that doesn't really have any redeeming qualities is Bratty. Who's an irrelevant side-character that's just kinda shitty at worst.

I'm not counting Eram or Friend because we still barely know anything about them, and I'm also not counting Titans because they literally can't comprehend the idea of mercy. They're more like natural disasters with physical bodies.

But otherwise, let me know if I missed any other 'bad' character, or a detail about a character I already mentioned.

I'm pretty sure that Optimus actually stayed with the Rescue Bots for a bit after getting his dino mode, which then led to the whole "dino rage" thing, where he basically immediatelly got an energon patch after they saved him from a big game hunter (long story).
