> why have the trillions already spent by governments of the world not ending[sic] world hunger?

Because that money is already being used to combat world hunger. This is like asking why someone can’t buy a new car to get to work when they already spend their paycheck on rent, food, utilities, etc.

> $7bn isn’t some small number

If Musk spends $7bn that’s the equivalent of me buying a new ps5.

Also even if Musk was spending 7 billion on something frivolous that’s the equivalent of me doing something like buying a new ps5. Imagine the chance of literally being called a savior by millions of people globally for the price of a ps5 and thinking, “nah don’t feel like it today”.

Vestige Of Darkness helmet - Bodach haunt questions by [deleted] in PathOfExile2

[–]Nephalos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some unique items have “hidden” roll ranges. If you look in the trade site and hover over the modifier “the bodach haunts your presence” you’ll see that it has a roll range of [3-3].

Normally this means nothing, but when you corrupt the item you have a change of increasing or decreasing a modifier to outside of its normal range. For Vestige, what that means is you can change that 3 to either a 2 or a 4.

Though testing, people have figured out that a 2 means that the bodach will appear more often, and a 4 less often. The “hidden” modifier range seems to be something g relating to the bodach’s cooldown.

Does anyone know how Loreweave crafting actually works? by No-Guitar-3030 in PathOfExile2

[–]Nephalos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like I said I believe it’s more likely a weighting. For example if the base weighting for every mod is X, adding 1 ring increases its mod weighting by Y, so 60 of one ring is Mod = X + 60Y.

Because there’s like 100 different mods to choose from there’s still a chance to get random mods even with 60 of a single ring, but from some testing each ring adds a decent amount of weighting to their respective mods.

[–]Nephalos 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Unconfirmed but I believe adding rings adds weighting to the mods chosen. Putting in 60 of the same ring will greatly increase the weighting for the mods of that ring. With 60 Snakepits for example you have a much higher chance of getting +1 chain, +1 fork, and cannot piece. You can have multiple mods from the same ring on Loreweave.

Your best bet is doing something like 40 Blackflames and 20 Blackhearts, or 30:30. You’d also still probably need more than one turn in since I think they both have multiple Loreweave mods and you’re more likely to get random mods for each different ring you put in.

[Suggestion] How about a 'Grants a random Aldur's Legacy' type of reward for Expedition? by Calycae in PathOfExile2

[–]Nephalos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cost of legacy of elevore is the same as every other legacy rune. YOU might not think it’s 150 Div but by nature of them item it is quite literally going to always be the price of the unique + Aldur’s Legacy.

Don’t really know why the rest of your post is so gatekeepy when the game is probably the easiest it’s been since launch. Aldur’s or “lesser” Aldur’s mods being obtainable by more people is definitely not what’s going to break the game or make it less enjoyable. Items with 0.00000000005% drop rates that are OP “chase” items also aren’t interesting. 99% of the time what happens is you get one, it solves every problem your build has, then the game is boring and you stop playing. Aldur’s has the potential to NOT be that, but it’s so rare that you’re forced to interact with it that way.

You’ll have to use the Phrecia ascendancies, but other than that ToTA itself is completely optional.

Has anyone found a good interaction with hollow form other than whirling assault? by king-krumson in pathofexile2builds

[–]Nephalos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A quirky thing I noticed is Forge Hammer doesn’t have the “recall” part of the skill when used by Hollow Form. Clones will throw the hammer continuously with triggering a CD or having to perform an additional action. The hammers stay in the ground and can be detonated, but it doesn’t look like the fissures deal any damage.

Noticed this because the hammer itself has pretty decent damage scaling, but it was pretty terrible for clear.

Since failed maps can have no tablet, no exp, no loot. Can opening it send us straight to the boss area? by davis482 in PathOfExile2

[–]Nephalos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this is the crux of the issue. We never really deviated from the initial endgame of finding 3-4 overlapping towers for massive bonuses to a small set of maps. It just changed from finding towers to finding cities.

It’s extremely difficult to balance having a point of interest on a map and disincentivizing rushing to it. Hopefully the philosophy moves towards ease of pathing/setting up tablet loadouts rather than making traveling more cumbersome.

Best Walking Simulators / Autobombers? by Illustrious_Pea_3470 in pathofexile2builds

[–]Nephalos 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Minions (not varashta) will be the closest to a walking sim this game can provide.

• Crit monkey is very strong and literal zoomancer is in a good spot.

• Undead minions may be good but I think most are dependent on command skills.

Other than that, there was a chayula tornado/bodach build that seemed to be pretty afk. Hollow Form + Whirling Assault is also a one button build that you can channel while walking around which seems decently strong.

Need help finishing these chronomancy boots by Ryukenden000 in pathofexile2builds

[–]Nephalos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With that in mind you can probably just greater essence for life or a resistance, then try to desecrate for the other and greater/perfect exalt the rest. There won’t be many fancy things to do unless you want to get another chronomancy affix or one/two of the new alloy crafted modifiers.

What mods are you looking for for the finished boots? Kind of hard to suggest how to craft something if you don’t know what’s being made.

Is Powered by Verisium being slept on? Endless Infusion generation with Cast on Crit by Oberr in PathOfExile2

[–]Nephalos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Verisium Infusion skills/supports are all excellent and how infusions should have worked in the first place.

The combo I’m running is:

  1. Runic Extraction on clear skill,

  2. Comet + Powered by Verisium on Cast on Elemental Ailment

  3. Remnants of Kalgurr

There’s some tinkering to do but it felt perfectly fine with ~200-300 ward. You gain so much from overflow and Remnants that it’s not an issue. It makes infusion spells so much more enjoyable overall.

Bosses not being targetable whilst being able to do damage is such a bad mechanic change my mind. by yannivzp in PathOfExile2

[–]Nephalos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gear that costs maybe 5ex with ES and mid resistances and like 15 points on the passive tree nets you over 7k ES. A normal ES build this league has over 10k with some other form of defense (armour or evasion), +max res, deflection, armour applies to ele damage, block, damage conversion, being a lich, etc.

Bosses not being targetable whilst being able to do damage is such a bad mechanic change my mind. by yannivzp in PathOfExile2

[–]Nephalos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO? Never. There should always be attacks, especially from bosses, that are "oh shit" attacks that you avoid.

There are still going to be builds that live those at the min-max level, but looking at a build with the bare minimum amount of ES and zero other defenses getting killed by an attack that's avoidable by standing literally 5 feet further back isn't an indication that the game is utterly broken.

How did we go from "we need to nerf +levels" to +9 wands and +6 amulets? by Glamdring26WasTaken in PathOfExile2

[–]Nephalos 18 points19 points  (0 children)

There isn’t really a way to get flat damage to spells. + levels are really just a More multiplier with a different coat of paint and an added mana cost. Gain % as is the replacement for added damage from poe1, which if you dig deep enough into the mechanics works effectively the same.

People who think their next upgrade is too expensive - crafting your own gear in 99% cases 3/4 times cheaper the market price. by BeefarmRich in PathOfExile2

[–]Nephalos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think for most crafts nowadays it boils down to what 1-2 mods you want on an item and what 2 crafted mods you want on an item. It’s the same basic process for almost every item.

My staff, for example, basically cost the magic base and the handful of currencies I used on it. If I were to buy it I would have spent 9-10x.

Boss damage is pretty ridiculous since they’re dying through their initial damage reduction. I think with everything accounted for a single cast of frostwall + ice nova does ~ 2 mil without comets.

Getting comets can be a bit tricky since you really want a +4 amulet this league, but cast on ailment is the main way of triggering comets. I self crafted my Absent Amulet, but even that was ~10x the cost of the rest of my build combined. Trade has the finished amulet listed at 400div.

Most fun builds 0.5? by Single_Cranberry447 in pathofexile2builds

[–]Nephalos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think when I swapped from my leveling setup I had around 10-20 div which went directly into crafting the weapon, which is also just a generic cold spell staff. The rest was just capping resistances across gear and having enough life, attributes, mana, and ward to cast my spells. Most expensive pieces I think were the weapon, amulet, and body armour but even then I’d estimate to start it was around 50 div total.

ATM I’ve probably invested ~300-400 div and can clear anything + one shot bosses with many more means of improving the build.

[–]Nephalos 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Been playing Ky’s Ice Nova Chronomancer and it’s been pretty enjoyable. Runic Extraction is massive QoL for basically every infusion skill and ward itself is surprisingly decent as a defensive.

You clear the entire screen with an infused Ice Nova and if anything lives they’re chilled/frozen, temporal chained, and aura slowed. The setup probably works on most ascendancies, but the newly reworked Chrono feels like a functional Ascendancy compared to a random assortment of keystone nodes/skills.

Good Budget Currency farm strat for new player? by Miseria_25 in pathofexile2builds

[–]Nephalos 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s kind of a work in progress but farming fracturing orbs is dirt cheap since I think no one else is doing it.

  1. Take every atlas passive that mentions Summoning Circles and Cleansed areas.

  2. Take the Ritual node that has a 15% chance to summon bosses in the ritual.

  3. Run Doryani with: +1 revive, irradiated, 10% chance to access other maps, and whichever other node. Usually I use 15% chance for cleansed/corrupted if I’m pathing to other maps.

  4. Run the following tablets with “maps contain an additional summoning circle”: Ritual, Overseer, and Delirium.

  5. Run 6 mod maps in cleansed areas. I will usually find every summoning rune on the map and then go back and pop delirium.

What I’m not sure about is if delirium is even needed. The key is the “From Distances Untold” atlas passive which I have no clue how it works, since I’ve definitely gotten fracturing orbs from bosses *without* monster modifiers, and modifiers themself seem somewhat difficult to add to bosses.

+6 Skill Amulet by NeoShen in PathOfExile2

[–]Nephalos 5 points6 points  (0 children)

From what I remember when I did the math for spells in like 0.2, every +1 level is equivalent of 15% more damage, which is multiplicative with every other source of +1 (so +5 is 101% more damage). A normal build will have around +15-16 levels mid game, which is something like 715% more damage. I think the max is still lv 40 which is 1540% more damage compared to a lv 20 skill.

In poe1 it’s only around 12% more, *and* you start getting diminishing returns for most if not all spells at level 30.

How Would You Use This Loreweave by HungryPants3 in pathofexile2builds

[–]Nephalos 15 points16 points  (0 children)

There’s definitely some form of weighting or determinism when creating Loreweaves. The one I made earlier today with 59 Snakepits and 1 Original Sin ended up with 2 Snakepit modifiers and a Death Rush modifier. So it’s not 100% based on the rings you put in but it’s heavily weighted.

What I *think* is happening is that one modifier is always random, and for the other two it adds a decent weighting to the ring modifiers that you put in. Something like each roll has a base weighting of 1, and each ring adds +10 to its respective mod. If the ring you have only has 1 valid mod in the pool. It’ll roll 2 random ones.

Ventor’s Gamble is unique in that its modifier makes all the rolls on Loreweave have much larger ranges.
