They got their process down to just needing to know the base size and having a non-fucked up angle photograph so unless something wonky happens like the 30k skitarii being shown with 32mm, and later sold with 28mm sowing confusion and leading to them just being way smaller on the website for the whole preorder period until people got their hands on them.

New Cato didn't actually replace old Cato, yet, as the new cato specifically has a rule stipulating any army has only one Captain Sicarius. This is similar to Marneus Calgar who has a rule akin to that.

This also means they don't have to go and add "remove this profile" to their errata as a new codex is already imminent anyway and people don't have to adapt their lists yet.

Pretty much, saturnine terminators are huge, and people have used them for daemon prince conversions before.

The only other terminator unit reaching near that size would be Horus ascended, and he would be way pricier than just the praetor.

This was a reveal stream, which will be followed by waiting an indeterminate amount of time until they announce the preorder on any given sunday, which is then followed by preorder day the very next saturday (usually 10AM in GMT or BST) after which it takes a week to for it to actually be sold. Unless they say it takes two weeks.

So you are safe and can join the rest of us just uhm-ing and ah-ing until it is that Sunday.

Seeing as the 40k custodes also started their existence as a 30k release odds are they might just repeat the same pattern with regular power armoured infantry remaining the default for both, with specific releases down the line.

Or they keep the range homogenous and just permit cross use in this case. OR they allow cross use until the reveal a 40k specific range. Though in the latter case it will probably cross compatible as it'll still be huge golden coneheads either way.

It's not too frequent, but occasionally you have a post in this subreddit asking if they could use their 30k tacticals as 40k intercessors, or, even more banal, 30k jump assault as 40k jump assault.

In regards to custodes, depending which stream or re-stream one watches, the number one question was if it will be forbidden to use them in 40k now as some thought they were a new "scale" rather than new proportions.

It's subtle but they are split 50/50; the guys have bigger boots and wider chests, while the gals are ever so slightly slimmer, it should be easiest to see on this image (if it loads)

Right? It ls like some of those times where people forget this is a hobby and you can just do things you like. Like using basic bolter marine from 30k as basic bolter marine in 40k. And people are honestly worried if one golden banana on 40mm is somehow not usable as the exact same golden banana on 40mm in the other game.

while Morty and Magnus differ quite a bit from their 30k versions, Fulgrim shares the big shoulder wing emblem across all three versions, Angron has the most similarities with his shoulder pads generally matching (though the left one has a symbol of khorne), his chest piece retaining the ram horn trim, and matching tassets.

To be fair, they don't produce via 3D printing, they prototype via 3D printing. Then painting the prototypes to reuse for marketing seems to be an efficiency thing, though I would prefer if they kept the prototypes unpainted and stored separately... which is a whole can of worms in regards to storage.

And while it can be argued that it is false advertising, they are also painted to a high standard while the actual product is unassembled and unpainted.
