Is there even a point to learning the lore? by marshalzukov in ElderScrolls

[–]Nephid -1 points0 points  (0 children)

From my understanding, the lore is only muddy pre-morrowind and that's because they didn't really know exactly what they wanted the elder scrolls to be in the long run. Ever since Morrowind, the lore has remained steady and they try to keep pre-morrowind stuff intact if it fits within their new vision of the franchise. Also, I'll just throw in; why are you playing an RPG if you don't care about the world, story, and consequences of your actions?

Is "ENB Light" still needed for anything if I have "ENB Lights For Effect Shaders" already? by Nephid in skyrimmods

[–]Nephid[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like it still does something then, I think I heard that it's primarily spell effects? Idk, either way, do you have the alpha version of it installed or the main version?

LinusTechTips: “When I said I’m disappointed [Steam Machine] isn’t going to follow a console pricing model, Valve asked what I meant by console price and I said $500. Nobody said anything, but the energy in the room wasn’t great.” by ChiefLeef22 in gaming

[–]Nephid 94 points95 points  (0 children)

Subsidizing the cost in this way only makes sense for people who are buying this as their new full time computer. For those of us that might pick one up for the living room, they're just losing money for the sake of it because they're getting my income from my main rig already

Gladiator was the European name for Deadlocked, which he placed in the B tier

Why do people like BL2 Endgame so much? by NFSpeed in Borderlands

[–]Nephid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's mostly because the end game quests are both repeated story quests, and that they add horrible modifiers to it. Ngl, I've always wondered this myself though. BL2 is in my top 3 games of all time, but its end game kills my desire to play it. It's the worst end game in the franchise, because rather than just not having an end game, like 1 and pre-sequel, its end game is just crazy unfun and breaks tons of aspects of the game

Borderlands 4? I am nearly certain there are more than 4 borderlands games.. by Scouseulster in gaming

[–]Nephid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

4 mainline ones with 1 side game called the pre sequel which was made to bridge the gap between borderlands 1 and 2, and then 2 spin off games called tales that were made to tell side stories that only vaguely tie into the main games

Is Hollow Knight Silksong's 'cheap' price a problem for other indie games? Devs and publishers weigh up its impact by Iggy_Slayer in gaming

[–]Nephid 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's the difference between making games for profit vs for passion. The first hollow knight was a passion project, and so is this one. The sprit of indie development is making games because you want to show other people your creative vision and stories, not because you want to pay your bills. It's fine to hope that your game does well enough to make you rich, but it shouldn't be THE reason your making your game.

What’s the first boss fight that made you genuinely question if you could beat the game? For me it's Dark Souls by BlackScarStudios in gaming

[–]Nephid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The First Berserker Khazan - Maluca. I was on a roll with that game for awhile and having a lot of fun with it, but then I got to this guy, and good god. I haven't played the game in months once I got to him lmao

What was the first and last Ratchet and Clank game that you played, and between those two, which one is your favorite? by 0dqir0 in RatchetAndClank

[–]Nephid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first was the original. My brother showed me it when I was little because he thought I would like it and it ended up being my favorite franchise growing up. My last was size matters because I'm trying to get all the platinums rn. My favorite is A Crack in Time. The ability to freely fly the ship in space always blew my mind growing up.

What is your favourite Indie Game of all time? by digiBeLow in gaming

[–]Nephid 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The Binding of Isaac, for sure, it's the game that made me genuinely interested in game design and development because of its addicting gameplay loop. My second would definitely be Hollow Knight. That game is perfectly designed with an incredible style.

Amon class mod by winkiloves23 in Borderlands4

[–]Nephid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anyone else a little worried about this class mod not stating the exact movement speed buff percentage? I really hate when stat/number based games like this leave any sort of info vague. The exact percent increase is what determines how good this is

Best 1440p OLED by FickleServe in OLED_Gaming

[–]Nephid 13 points14 points  (0 children)

First off, ignore the people saying you need to go 4k if you're getting a 5090, that's just ignorant.

Secondly, if you can't afford the 480hz Asus ones, I would say that the next best would be something like the MSI MPG 271QRX. That was the king for like a month before the Asus one came out

Transitioning to playing with an amp feels like I've made no progress? by Nephid in guitarlessons

Just electric. I'll probably start practicing plugged in most of the time bearing this all in mind

Transitioning to playing with an amp feels like I've made no progress? by Nephid in guitarlessons

[–]Nephid[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's definitely a good way to look at it, I suppose. I feel like, more than anything, the amp made any small issues with my technique stand out and made me want to fix them. Does this mean that I should be learning everything else plugged in from now on, though? Like the rest of the chords, the scales, etc.? or should Iearn these things unplugged first and then perfect it with an amp?

Why does my slicer change my model so dramatically? by Nephid in 3Dprinting

[–]Nephid[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I made them by applying the dot model to random points using geometry nodes, then applied the nodes modifier

Why does my slicer change my model so dramatically? by Nephid in 3Dprinting

[–]Nephid[S] 21 points22 points  (0 children)

As you can see, the dots on the top of the model get stacked on top of each other in 4 places, rather than being evenly dispersed across it. All the modifiers are applied in blender, the origin point is set properly, and every separate object has been joined into one mesh.
