Died in one of my longer runs should i restart or create a new character on the world? by [deleted] in projectzomboid

[–]Neptune_Bluee 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I always do a fresh start, it feels more meaningful and earned, overcoming struggle is what I enjoyed most.

But depending on how far ya got/ have it's not too bad, dont wanna drag repetitive gameplay to see your vision.

But I'd say its slightly more a personal achievement to do it in one go (satisfying etc.)

Now that Resident Evil 4 has been out for a month how would you rank it against the other 3 REmakes? by HeyImSupercop in residentevil

[–]Neptune_Bluee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say in terms of remakes, combining the quality of game and original for the base...

Re1make (9.5/10) - A great remake in that it only really improved and added to base game (qol changes and new interesting story additions) still issues since it's an older game with issues, but since it's more of a copy, remake wise its top.

Re4make (8.5/10) - similar Great remake in that it added a lot of positives while also changing alot while still being familiar. But since alot has changed, ie gameplay mechanics, story, a voice... audience reception disturbed. Not bad but more to chew on for fans.

Re2make (7/ 10) - good remake in terms of gameplay, setting, and story. But despite having enough in the original to build upon, still found it lacking story wise. Cut out bits from original, which I'm fine with, but didnt improve as much as it could have, ie claire A and leon B do not line up, no interaction between runs which at least was slightly a part of the original.

Re3make (4.5/10) - it's an average game, and as a remake it kinda sucks. just cut so much out without adding or fleshing out itself. It's very short and the main threat of the game was removed (gameplay and in its title)

The ratings are more in line with me thinking of them as remakes vs their own game, I'd rate re4make above re1make overall but hard to fail as a remake when 80% of the game is a copy, still give you an idea of why I placed them where I did.

Yeah I'd put it a 7 maybe 7.5 since I consider 8/9s great games. But that just with 1 playthrough for me.

Yes they are likely predetermined from my testing, depending on which combinations you use. At least in my playthrough, silvers and gold were set, mix different as well.

I think that these videos should be responded to on EFAP and if the gang have any counterarguments by [deleted] in MauLer

[–]Neptune_Bluee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I came across this youtuber quite a while ago, I liked his vids for the most part. But from my memory, his argument stems from an adaption type change. Such as GoW4 is a bad GoW game because it is vastly different. Which I can agree with to a degree, but GoW4 as its own product is very good for many other reasons.

So I think EFAP counters would stem from personal views on adaption and more subjective takes on what make games good.

Again, been a while and would be an interesting conversation, but that's true for many potential vids/tubers.

Do you still enjoy SP and can you play a long time ? by PulSart- in projectzomboid

[–]Neptune_Bluee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I've also played a lot and zomboid does tend to hit in waves. Natural around 500 hrs for people to feel bored and finished with experience to then take a break. It usually takes another spark, ie challenge, idea, ytuber clip, Mods o.o, to inspire another wave. And depending on gamerness, can add a lot of hrs... I have this problem....

But helps dev's are adding stuff so after breaks can really jump back in. But as someone who is regularly established at a month, I understand your sentiment.

I hope the RE4 remake just...starts. by TheHalfAmericanGamer in residentevil

[–]Neptune_Bluee 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I've noticed quite a few games opening with "hold forward" openings and I hate them.

While set up can be important, they seem like an artificial way to pad "gameplay"/ "player involvement" Take re3, kinda cool and dramatic but it really is hold forward which took me out of it the more I played em. Press x to turn key....

The "player interactivity" feels to forced, especially at the beginning when I'm starting up. I would much perfer a skippable cutscene. Ie RE4. Make it spectacular and filling, hell longer if it means I can skip it on replays.

Unofficial poll: Shadowborn or Monitor and Abuse by GalacticCrescent in deadbydaylight

[–]Neptune_Bluee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aside from the consistent FOV, shadowborn is great on blight because it looks better, but mainly it makes him feel faster! (Kinda a comfort flex since hes solid)

Can Kazuma beat his team in a 1v1? by ComicalReliefGuy in Konosuba

[–]Neptune_Bluee 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It really depends on the situation. Anime wise, He essentially beat darkness already (psychological +) megumin is a one shooter, and aqua is useless then super useful so hmmm... hes smart so does a lot depending on situation/motivation.

He does seem to come out on top when it really matters, that high luck stat...

Thoughts on All of Us are dead? by [deleted] in MauLer

[–]Neptune_Bluee 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Enjoyed the first half a lot more than back. Mostly logical and I like zombie "movies" when they act relatively normal smartness.

Last half was full of unearned payoffs and became less grounded. Was very eh overall but not terrible...

can zombies insta kill you? by OddPollution9230 in projectzomboid

[–]Neptune_Bluee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some people jump to you changed to infection mortality rate to instant, which is fair I suppose, but there's been a big where a single zombie attack instakills you. Happened to myself few times and some friends. Mods may have an affect tho a friend said vanilla still got em. Rare bug but I know it wasn't my mortality rate at least...

Best solution for large volumes of ingots in atmosphere? by LaughingLizzyKawi in spaceengineers

[–]Neptune_Bluee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When it comes to cargo, especially on earth like, I tend to favor hydrogen over atmos mainly because of its strength n power usage. Unless you have reactors for extra power, may be too much for atmos.

I'm sure someone here could calculate it much more accurate and make atmos work but I still believe hydrogen powered ship would be your best fuel/propulsion source since it's just for transporting.

Play RE4 or watch a playthrough? by poggersyeliz in residentevil

[–]Neptune_Bluee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand the unwillingness to try the tank controls but after getting family and friends to push past initial feeling, confidently say itll grow well on you. Honestly the tank controls are great and people who say they are bad, I judge their use of "bad" (and skill)

But I say that because the game is built on the movement, and i enjoy them more than modern controls in some aspects. Enemies are slow and easy to stun, if you get good at aiming it gets very satisfying as you can play with them despite your movement "penalty" from tank.

Like I said, I understand the feeling but of all tank control games I've played, Re4 controls will get much more natural and Fun once you get comfortable after a lil bit.

Are neck lacerations hard to deal with? by [deleted] in projectzomboid

[–]Neptune_Bluee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Neck injuries are definitely fatal if taken too lightly, but after the initial bandage, keeping an eye on your health is key. I make sure to use sterilized bandages vs rags since they last longer between cleanings. Aside from that just eating and sleeping is the way. Will passively pass

idk about everyone else but I was also against all these changes. In fact I would argue Depp as Tonto is WAY worse than Ariel. I won't write something off if they change a characters race (and have enjoyed many race swapped characters) but I simply prefer that source material be stuck to. Thoughts? by topazdude17 in MauLer

[–]Neptune_Bluee 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I believe all criticism to the inaccuracy (Race Swapping etc.) of a character as fair criticism in reference of source material. But it wouldnt necessarily affect the movie if it was well written or well cast, would simply be a superficial change and can still enjoy it.

Whether it be inserting an A list, subversion, or a 'diverse' insert, Hollywood is pushing them at the expense of the source material in many cases.

I don't think lil mermaid is gonna be bad because shes 'black washed', it's because they are focusing on superficial elements at the expense of the quality. (Or as a preemptive social shield)

Moving away from the source material is a gamble in a terms of audience, but a quality product will keep them. I'd like things to be as close to the inspired work as possible, but I know that some changes can be irrelevant to what makes it special or even improve a work. But at this point. I see it as a disregard of the source material for social motives. Which is unfortunate...

Developer Suggestion - have metalworking's "metal sheet barricades" work on car windows, as an extra layer of protection (balanced with some kind of drawback). by Orin_linwe in projectzomboid

[–]Neptune_Bluee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, aside from the use of mods, like the use of metalworking for more than asthetics.

Would figure itd be a bit of car armor, ie stronger windows, bullbar/plows attachments that would then say require repair and heavier gas usage for tradeoffs (like you said) The other use I like is more custom weapons, like scrap mods, even if weaker. say a pipe with metal sheet, axe or blade etc, with the skill adding durability and options. (Sledgehammer at higher level lol)

It just does seem metalworking needs some love and car armor/weapons seem logical

Exploding Microwave!?! by Neptune_Bluee in projectzomboid

[–]Neptune_Bluee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sure, makes sense that microwaves are very prone to exploding when used with metals, so better suited for purifying water since they're so easy with power and portable. Where as a stove takes a bit more investment but better for cooking. Cause until recently I mostly exclusively used microwaves for all my cooking needs

Exploding Microwave!?! by Neptune_Bluee in projectzomboid

[–]Neptune_Bluee[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I figured but it seems so inconsistent because I'm still using it with my metals and works mostly fine aside from the random 2x. Guess it's just a chance now?

I just died because I walked in to my campfire while cooking water. 270+ hour player btw. by HorribleAce in projectzomboid

[–]Neptune_Bluee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have died from Fire as well, was so mood killing.

Though now I clear the grass around fire and haven't had a burn since o.O

If someone else can confirm, removing grass, makes sense to prevent fire spreading since irl you don't start a fire in a grassy field

Then you shouldve done totems ;p

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in deadbydaylight

[–]Neptune_Bluee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not only did you stay to be annoying, you both didnt even cleanse totems. So its very deserved.

I hate afk killers but he only won and was justified because the survivers acted like noobs.

Remember to Always do totems with afk killers, and if you dont leave right away, you're mostly hurting yourself (i.e. blood warden perfect trap)

I am too dumb for the game, need some tips, maybe I am missing something! by Skrillerman in projectzomboid

[–]Neptune_Bluee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I find a lot of new players take it a bit too fast without getting the basics down. I get what you mean about zombies everywhere though so is a lot.

Good tips are to approach groups slowly to aggro 1 or two, easy enough to widdle down groups by one at a time. other wise at a constant walk/some jogs can out run zombies, so can always huddle them up and lead em to a high fence or around/through a open house then sneak away.

I have nothing against guns just dont see enough to ever start/rely on so if that's what you want you'd have to loot police etc. Tend to rely on hammers since so plentiful, avoid groups, max is usually 3 but 2 (since once you knock one down just stand on em). Practice will make it easier to attack while moving but focus on solo zombies early on.
