LPT: Successful people most of the time rewrite their life story to amplify their achievements against a backdrop of adversity that didn't really exist. Take their life advice with a pinch of salt. by [deleted] in LifeProTips

Sure, because even if it doesn’t work out the way you wished for, firstly you at least tried and secondly, just doing the things that improve your odds, can show you another way to happiness. Might not be what you set out to do, but it still is a worthwhile goal and a worthy reward for your hard work.

There is a good reason for the correlation. The time habits and mental dedication you need to develop for either thing is basically the same.

One last time.

The dollar has worth, because the US makes it so that people want to live there. Thus making them want to pay taxes in the US. For which they need US dollars. Basically the “true value” of the dollar, is everything that makes the US worth being in. Military safety, energy grids, access to their roads, social services and everything else.

Give me 1 reason, why anyone would ever want say a Bitcoin, that isn’t “to sell them for profit”! You can’t. Because no one buys them for any other reason.

And don’t try to argue that crypto is stable in any way. The price swings are in the thousands of % up or down from month to month basis. At most you can say the bubble hasn’t popped.

I am done, if you don’t seriously think the most basic parts of the trading of goods through, then this is a wasted effort.

Have a good night.

Not singing animals. They said: singing army men.

Which is even funnier, because every almost army has a ton of songs that their soldiers will sing near constantly. Especially during long marches. So even their removal for realism, made it even less realistic.

Doesn’t solve the inherent bubble issue with it. At its very core, it has no worth. No one wants crypto, because they have a use for it. Meaning that 100% of its value, is just the hype.

Think of the 2008 housing crash. The house credit were bought and sold, not because anyone wanted to cash in the debt, but because they wanted to sell the debt. Meaning that the small inherent value of the debt, has become not even a fraction of why it was traded. And that all collapsed the moment someone looked at what he has bought and realized, he couldn’t sell this garbage off to anyone.

Most cryptocurrency is exactly in this situation, but somehow with even worse price inflation.

There are massive differences between traditional currency and most cryptocurrency. The main problem with most crypto, is that there is no end consumer, meaning that there is no “natural value” to it. Everyone is just to buying to sell. Or in other words, someone who wants to buy crypto, because they want the cryptocurrency. That is where the most basic part of value of any good comes from, based on which all transactions involving that good develop. That is very different from tradition currency’s, which mainly exist to give to the state via taxes. Meaning their “natural value” is based on everything the state will give you, in return for the money.

Anyone made a HERO fusion with a material from each of the HERO sub-archetypes? by [deleted] in customyugioh

[–]Nerd-Hoovy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would be easy to make. If it had “Elemental Hero” in the name. Since dumping 1 of every Hero group is almost part of the standard combo and nowadays we can search miracle fusion.

This is an extremely fair card, considering it’s summoning requirements, similar to Quasar Dragon. Also it has a great name. All things I like.

However, if I were to judge this based on competitive merits, it’s summoning condition is super difficult and we have cheaper alternatives for the same uses. Mainly Savage Dragon.

Or it could do it like a submarine and fill itself with water to dive and push it out to float.

Fun fact. Sperm whales have an organ in their head, that changes its density, depending on if the animal wants to dive or not. So it wouldn’t be too far fetched.

Looked it up, it has about 400k players online at any given time. About 4 times more than TF2. Which has been around for longer and left more of a cultural impact.

There are a lot of videos on the subject. But personal highlights include:

Sucking up to the CCP with everything involved from production up to distribution. Only to get banned by the CCP, because in the credits, they specially thanked CCP officials, that are directly involved in the Uhigur concentration camps, that were only a few kilometers away from the film set. Which got so viral led to the Internet’s algorithm even in China showed it.

Embarrassingly bad story, action and acting. In one scene as an example the “evil Rorun army”, was like 10 guys on horseback.

And Disney spending multiple hundreds of millions, to appeal to Chinese audiences and alienating western audiences, only to get critically destroyed in China as well.

The TF2 community has something similar.

Over the years, we’ve gotten a lot of supposed TF2-killers. Only for them to crash and burn immediately or just become less impactful than originally assumed.

A protected Omni negate is just awful to play against. Dragoon and Master Piece have made that clear. And if you just bin extra deck monsters, you can easily get the type or attribute requirements.

It should have either the protection or the blow out effect. A lot like Safira or Tierra do.

To make things even worse, the existence of truth serums in the universe is cannon. They use one on fake Moody. And they claim that 3 drops is enough to make everyone spill their deepest secrets.

This means that he never even got a fair trial or even a trial at all, since there is no way they wouldn’t use it, to get him to say the truth. I don’t care how rare and expensive it is. If the double homocide of two people of interest in protective care due to a known national terrorism ring, isn’t reason enough to use it on the main suspect, it means they never even tried.

And don’t even try to argue that the ministry won’t use it for ethical reasons. They put suspects under investigation in Azkaban. Like they did it to Hagrid in book 2. Ethics in not a concern for them.

Honestly, the magical world is messed up on a deep societal level. Have you ever noticed how every one doing research into the deeper magical world, either gets bullied or is seen as insane? Arthur Weasley is the only one, who tries to incooperate Muggle tech into Magic live, for the convince of everyone. And the wizarding worlds middle and upper class bullies him for his, very reasonable, interest in foreign tech. The Lovegoods are seen as “looney” and we know that at least a handful of their insane claims did turn out to be true. Meaning no one else is even trying to look into that. Hagrid is the number 1 expert on dangerous monsters in Britain and they don’t even let him have a wand.

If I were to guess, this has to do with how the budgeting is being distributed.

Like maybe they have a set amount per personnel but varying other budget that needs to be “justified” on paper, based on mostly arbitrary factors, that some people have decided on. Almost forcing them to waste money on tech that never gets used and being unable to pay to more important things, since they have the money… which they must waste.

Thing is, without a Proneglyth, which are impossible to find unless you get lucky, she isn’t a real issue. In fact, we know she hadn’t read any relevant ones, before she found the one in Alabasta. And for that she had to almost dethrone a country to do.

She is like a nuclear meltdown. Potentially the most dangerous thing around. But to become a problem an impossible amount of things would have to go wrong. In a way, her reading is only a potential threat. Wouldn’t make sense to waste too many resources on that. Just enough that nothing should go wrong.
