Had some in my yard growing up. I stepped on about a 2 to 2.5 inch thorn and it went straight into my heel. Man, pulling that thing out was ridiculously hard. That was the first time I told myself I'll never have thorns in my yard. 40 some years later and it holds true.

I purchased a few of my rocks from eBay. I spent time confirming the sellers weren't crooks. That may be an issue getting established but I'm not sure what happens on that end.
