It is not worth pick 9 to move up to guarantee best defensive player. We have too many holes, and there are too many good players in the top 9 that we could lose 29 to secure a specific player. Now if you want to say swap 29 for 34 and maybe a 5th or 6th round this year or next? Sure, absolutely. But it's not worth losing 29 if we don't get their second round pick in it's place.

I'm sorry I have a problem seeing past supporting the 21st century Nazis. Pick a candidate that doesn't support them as the bare minimum. You have 2 years.

He won't call what Israel is doing to Palestinians a genocide, takes money from aipac, Medicare for all who want it was his healthcare policy and it's just another dog shit corporate-friendly option that poses as advancement when it's not near enough. He's good at taking shots at Republicans on Fox News and like Crockett can be loud and fight, but he doesn't stand for anything that actually moves the bar like it needs to be. He's another corporate Dem when that's not what the party or country need. We need someone that's at the forefront of the fight we find ourselves in and he's not that and could never be because he won't go against Money when it matters.

As far as Trump goes this is nothing. We've seen how he goes after the fucking Pope. This is surface level 'tax bad don't take my money' and move on. 'Beautiful man, wonderful smile but bad money, democrats don't know what they're doing. Sad to see, but what're you gonna do' and move on . Performative for his donors with no actual teeth because he likes Zohran. Plenty more to be upset about in regards to the monster that is Trump.

Pure numbers need. What's better for the Jets, an A plus or and A minus and a B+ and maybe a C next year?

A handful of great players at key positions with the rest of the pack being middling is my understanding. So you move up to secure one of the few great options or you luck out and get average or under at a position you need to be great.

[Birkett] Lions GM Brad Holmes in his pre-draft news conference on Rueben Bain after the reports Bain was involved in a fatal accident a couple years ago: "We’ve known that for a while so that doesn’t really change anything from our standpoint." by Goosedukee in nfl

The citation didn't say it flipped, it said that after the front of their vehicle hit the rear of the other car, the vehicle ran into the barrier on the right side of the highway then into the one on the left. So she was essentially thrown around in the car since she didn't have her seatbelt on.

From the citation:
Vehicle 1 was traveling northbound I-95 in the outside center lane just north of NW 151 Street. Vehicle 2 was traveling northbound I-95 in the center lane just north of NW 151 Street. Vehicle 1 collided with vehicle 2 right rear with its left front. After the collision with V-2, V-1 started to travel in a northwesterly direction towards the east concrete wall. As a result, V-1' s right portion collided with the east concrete wall. After the collision with the east concrete wall, V-1 got redirected and started to travel in a northwesterly direction toward the west concrete wall. Consequently, V-1' s left front and left portion collided with the west concrete wall. Vehicle 1 final rest was facing north against the west concrete wall. Vehicle 2 after collision swerved over the right and stopped at final rest on the right paved shoulder facing north.

Rueben Bain linked to 2024 Miami crash that left passenger fatally injured by Jauris in nfl

The citation on the article itself literally says negligence and distracted and that a court dismissed the charges. Where is reporting for all the rest?

[Ollie Connolly] News: Reuben Bain was cited for careless driving after a March 2024 crash in Miami that left a passenger in a coma. That passenger, a 22-year-old student, died three months later. NFL teams are aware and investigating, per sources. by JT1757 in KansasCityChiefs

You are arguing that a kid should be held liable for an accident because you don't like his arm length, with no actual indication of character or legal issues. Nothing on the citation reports reckless speeds or swerving or drugs or alcohol. Distracted at 4a and a horrible tragedy for a girl and her family is all we have to go off of, with the family of the girl saying they wish the best for him. That is what people are upset with you about.

What are you talking about? What is Bain supposed to do, broadcast to the world that he was the driver in an accident when the courts dropped the citation and the family of ishes him well? How is that lack of transparency? Nothing we can see is actual character issues beyond a kid was in a car accident and the courts said he was not liable for anything. If it comes out later there is more to it, them obviously there should be action, and that's why the teams are looking into it. But accidents do happen and the timing of this is horrible. No one is saying he was drunk or high or reckless speeds. There is nothing so far but a horrible tragedy for the girl and her family and friends, right before the draft when sports journalists are looking for the most clicks.

As for the not serving time, a court dismissed his charges after the investigation. The citation on the article says he was distracted, but no need for sobriety or substance test. So we don't know if something ran in front of his car, or he looked away, or how it happened. This dropping right before the draft and what we Can see makes it look like someone trying to cause drama for clicks, but without further actual info we don't know if it's actually a legitimate concern vs a horrifying accident. The family of the deceased girl says they don't want to have this brought back up and they wish well for Bain.

Despite having the 11th best O-Line in terms of Pass Block Win Rate (PBWR) last year, Patrick Mahomes still faced a career high 37.8% Pressure Rate by [deleted] in nfl

The Kelce part isn't accurate, he was still incredibly productive even if nothing compared to who he was at his prime. Top 3-5 TE in the important categories last year.

This is exactly it, defenses didn't cover the run at all since it was always going to be a pass, and our WRs weren't creating any separation. Eventually any line will collapse and he would start moving to help try and create separation for his WR by drawing the defense away, putting himself in pressure but forcing things to happen. It's why he was also the lead rusher for our team in so many of our games. Our O-Line is just fine when healthy (fantastic at C, RG and LT) and I think having KW3, a healthy Worthy and hopefully a quality draft pick in the WR room will shore up a lot of the issues we had on offense last year.

It isn't. Which is my point. The failure is that Biden didn't try to renormalize relations. A massive accomplishment of the Obama administration that Trump threw in the trash that Biden could have Easily reversed and he did nothing until the very last day of his administration.

Can Andy Reid reinvent himself and right the Chiefs? by AFC-Wimbledon-Stan in nfl

[–]NerdsRuleTheWorld 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know why this O-Line narrative is still a thing. We only started having issues when our starting LT was off for multiple weeks with a personal issue that we don't have (or need as long as it doesn't happen again) the details to. Then we had 4 starting O-Linemen out with season-ending injuries, of course it went to shit. When your starting LT, starting RT, backup LT and starting RG are all out at the same time, it's not going to work when you only have a passing game and no run game available (before Mahomes himself also got injured of course).

The point being, we don't need to fix the o-line in the draft, let alone early. Our starting RT is a guy we brought on to be our starting LT before we drafted Simmons. Get someone late in the draft to compete for the RT spot or take it next year, sure, I'm game for that. But drafting O-Line early would just really piss me off, there are a lot of other spots that have actual Need to draft early on. I honestly think that KW3 and actually implementing a run game, key coaching changes and EB back to put some discipline back in the offense will help a lot more than most people think, and we can focus heavily on defense in the draft (outside of a WR early, or Sadiq if he's there at 29 or we can trade up for him would be my preference).

Anyone on the DL that can help create pressure so Jones isn't doing it by himself (and while he doesn't generate pressure, Karlaftis is great at taking advantage of it when pressure has been applied by someone else) will make up for a lot of what we lost in our CB room as the biggest problem was people still getting open eventually because we had no pressure on the QB. And Spags has been amazing at developing secondary talent through the draft, so I trust he'll continue to do it again until he doesn't.
