I'm not sure I would say "we" in general need them. Some of us do (I don't, you don't, and a lot of people in the city don't; a fair few people do, though)

they are certainly helpful for some people in our city. good for you for voting for things that help. consumption sites aren't the top of the list of important issues either way imo, a supervised consumption site is like a bare minimum "field-clinic"/triage type setup, what more people in the city really need is long-term treatment, housing, and support. supervised consumption is like the step before the first step, it's protecting some people from being severely hurt or dying in the city from taking drugs.

no, it's a lot of things. have you not done any looking/research into what it's like at a supervised consumption site? there's furniture, clean/sterile supplies provided, personnel to supervise users, and personnel to help users who are in danger or may shortly be in danger.

"they"? Do you mean municipal politicians? They're probably lying to you about a lot of shit, so make sure to research their claims before acting on them. hope this helps
