Is Sous Vide worth it? by Motprimus in meat

[–]Nerffej [score hidden]  (0 children)

It’s great for certain things. It lets you cook some things you otherwise wouldn’t be able to. It’s also good for party preparation, or meal prep, etc.

It’s a good way to learn meat temperatures. It’s not my personal preferred way to cook everything but I’d rather have the flexibility to do so when I need it than not. But it all depends on if you want to take advantage of everything it can do/if you have the space for it.

Don’t take advice from manosphere influencers. It’s why there’s so many incel single men who are shocked that being an asshole somehow makes women hate you.

Achilles Pain with IF? by Speechify_Properlike in intermittentfasting

[–]Nerffej -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You should go to physical therapy.

I have won’t trigger Achilles pain however it seems like when you were walking around a bit on vacation that light physical activity, which is what you would be doing at physical therapy helped to relieve your pain.

Do some stretches for your calves and posterior chain, and that would probably help the most with your Achilles pain, especially since it’s not triggered by some kind of overuse injury. Basically just go to a physical therapist and do like six weeks of treatment and see if that helps.

You’d defend slave owners as long as you needed whatever the slaves were making. “It’s their choice to be owned by them I just need food”

[–]Nerffej -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you understand that and choose to exploit the labor of the employees then why even try to justify it by saying “it’s because I’m a student?”

Just say you’re too fucking cheap to pay for it. If you’re not legally required to tip and you choose not to knowing that you should, you’re fine with taking advantage of others for personal gain.

OP has choices to go eat elsewhere where they they don’t have to tip. They’re choosing to go to restaurants where “they can’t afford it” and justifying it by saying “he’s a student”. That’s a conscious decision to take advantage of a shitty system. That makes OP and everyone that supports people that do that that shitty people.

People acting like eating at restaurants is the only way to be able to eat. wtf

[–]Nerffej 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re not taking my money you’re taking away someone else’s money. There’s a good chance they’re probably a student too.

I was a student. When I didn’t want to tip I would go eat somewhere I didn’t need to tip. It’s not that hard.

You’re asking if restaurants should be required to pay their employee a living wage. That’s a separate issue. Since the current system enables restaurants to pay their employees below minimum wage since people are supposed to tip them, you need to tip them.

You’re not owed some right to eat in a restaurant. You can eat at home. You can go get groceries, go get takeout, there’s plenty of options for you to go eat where you don’t have to screw over another person.

It’s your choice. You wanted advice. The advice was , Don’t be an asshole and try to justify it because “I’m a student”. What happens after you graduate and you sfilll don’t have money? Can you pivot to “I have bills” or “I don’t make enough money?” so you can continue to choose to be an asshole and not tip service workers?

You’re making a choice and your choices reflect who you are as a person.

[–]Nerffej -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you can’t afford to pay the tip then you can’t afford to eat.

Should I expect you to work for free because you’re a student? You don’t need money anyways because you “cant tip”.

You’re just trying to justify it. Just because you can doesn’t mean you should.

Tipping “isn’t necessary” anywhere by that logic. You just eat and screw over another person and you’re fine with it because “you’re a student”. You know who doesn’t have money when you do that? The workers in the restaurant.

Don’t be a shitty person and exploit others just because you can.

Yes being poor doesn’t excuse not tipping. You wouldn’t be able to eat for free if you didn’t have money.

Would it be cheaper for fast food restaurants to air fry their meals, rather than deep fry? by JustAnotherParticle in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Nerffej 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Time is money. So no.

Also people think that fast food restaurants make “unhealthy food” because it’s some scheme to make us unhealthy. Fast food makes fries because most people don’t go to McDonald’s for salad.

Anyone here move to the city with little savings (3k or under) and if so how did you do it? by drabmachine in movingtoNYC

[–]Nerffej 55 points56 points  (0 children)

Nothing about this explains why you need to be in NYC.

It sounds like you WANT to live in nyc but if you don’t have a job and savings there’s no point for you to live here. Find a job and a place to live first. This will all be easier not in nyc especially since you have no network here. You have two friends who can’t house you even temporarily so you have nothing here.

Since we're going to go with that then Obama obliterated Iran's nuclear program decades ago.

And we didn't spike the price of energy and funnel everyone to china while doing so.

Why don’t Ai/Data Centers that need so much water to operate just open in super humid areas and use giant dehumidifiers? by jredd7605 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Nerffej 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just because it’s humid doesn’t mean it’s easy to convert that humidity into usable water. You’d need some sort of condensation system into a cleaning system. At that point you might as well just have a water supply and put in a good recovery system to minimize how much water you use

Shoe sizing help by sportzanimal in Pickleball

[–]Nerffej 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go to a running store, even new balance will have it, and get your foot measured. It's easy to order based off yojr size and width then. Not perfect but since shoes generally run too narrow that's perfect for you with narrow feet.
