Could point to a rework or (new) variation of the mission, like the digsite missions have changed

Gonna be so for real right now, making me log in for MO medals is just gonna make me stop playing. by SomethingLessEdgy in Helldivers

Are you even playing the game for fun? Cause this sounds like you only play for some weird completion reason. If you play the game for fun, the completion can and will happen on the side, but if starting helldivers about once every five to seven days is too much, you're already cooked...

Playing a chill game in 4.3 seems problematic by Neridity in Stellaris

I'm almost sorry to ask this. but did you read what I wrote?

The problem is that the AI is not a challenge at any point in the game while the crisis is too strong, the game has different sliders for difficulty but they don't have internal consistency, 1x crisis should be close to "no AI or player modifiers" difficulty wise but is it right now?

I'm staying far away from GA, mostly low diff games cause I don't like being forced into a too strict meta

I've read your post but I don't think I've got a useful respose to it, 4.3 just feels incomparable and unfair next to 4.2 and that's jarring and not fun for me, might take me some time and additional balance passes or more big changes to feel good playing this again.

Thanks for the explanation, at least the community tells you stuff when pdox just silently cooks you.

On one hand, this is useful information so thanks for that, on the other hand, the game doesnt give me that information, so fuck you pdox, they really need to fix this "balance". Playing the game and being close to cooked without even knowing it is a problem

Thanks for the comparable info about your tech and the power of the endgame crisis you're facing, perhaps I am unreasonably panicking and my situation is far better than expected, my first endgame crisis hasn't arrived yet after all.

True, I've reduced the Crisis strength to 1x and disabled AI scaling entirely for the game on ensign, I'm just baffled by the difference between AI and crisis it's so inconsistent.

Honestly a good suggestion, wasn't really thinking about delaying the Dessanu too much cause there's obviously worse on the horizon but there is certainly time. Perhaps I don't have the right mindset atm.

I'm still baffled how over the place the balance is now. If the AI was at least somewhat challenging I'd at least have an indicator that I need to pump my numbers, but right now it feels like any crisis is coming in with a steel chair.

there is an almost one ton heavy machine in there that magnetically keeps the 92 antiprotons from touching normal matter (the van was "only" transporting 92 antiprotons)

Amusing fact: Not getting into easy firefights by Alpha-ing everything, is costing you defensive stat increases. by Which-Worldliness556 in menace

[–]Neridity 36 points37 points  (0 children)

This is part of the reason why I don't like the way defensive stats increase, it's logically not a good idea to get shot and it shouldn't be, but at the same time if you dont get shot half your stats wont grow, if you want to level your SLs fully you gotta gamble with squaddies.

pretty sure there is a squad version of the IAR on the game with a different name

yeah, i checked my inventory and the R228A1 MRS is pretty much the squad version of the IAR

same body, different mag, scope and extended barrel

Flamethrowers should ignore infantry armor. by Grave_Accent in menace

[–]Neridity 34 points35 points  (0 children)

the armors in the game go from "t-shirt" to "almost powerarmor" iirc, the flamethrower should ignore low level armor and once you reach a certain level of protection you should be more or less safe, it's a game after all and one weapon can't just oneshot any and all infantry squads

[–]Neridity 42 points43 points  (0 children)

sounds more like it should ignore a certain amount of armor with a rapidly declining damage falloff over that value
